It's definitely blame to share throughout the QBs, schemes, and pass block issues... but really, when was the last time they invested much in WR?

AJ Jenkins, late first rd pick in 2012... .. other than that, it's been day 3 picks, and a great late rd trade for Boldin. Did I miss anyone?

Torrey Smith was an expensive FA pickup, but did anyone really see him as being a legit #1? (very solid, complementary deep threat #2, but that's it)

agree about Torrey. he strives when there's a true #1 on the team. but he's a #2

We didn't have pass protection this good in 2012 or 2013. Our line was great at run blocking at that time, but they were garbage in pass protection. Right now, they are giving Gabbert far more than enough protection to get it done and he's just failed to do so.

If gabbert doesn't do s**t against a mediocre dallas d with absolutely no pass rush what so ever he should never see the field again unless injury. This should be the game he at least should look like a starting caliber qb in the NFL

True enough and we did have a lot better...ok, way better O draft this yr, very likely thanks to Chip''s input and requests. From that standpoint we are progressing. Chip knows O talent and Baalke is better with D talent. Together, they did very well. Even better was thinning out the dead wood on O, and that included some lesser talents on the OL. Ok , they were awful, but thanks to chip are gone now, with just one more to go.

At least put in ponder. f**k gabbert man

Believe me, Kap will suck more than Gabbert. I am intrigued to see Ponder, our potential back up for next year.

Seriously tho, it's not entirely up to Chip and he can't do anything if Baalke / Jed are against Kap from playing. It's a lot more than just the weight issue (contract and maybe a bit of the politics crap).

Even at his current stage / weight (a buck fitty), it's likely he could outperform Gabbert / Ponder. He can easily tie some water balloons to his balls during weigh ins

This is the same garbage as last year. The roles are just reversed. I'm tired of hearing it already. Neither one of these guys is gonna do anything. Gabbert is gonna throw it in the dirt or to the other team. Kai is gonna stare down WRs and get picked all day cuz he can't go through progressions. This team will have a top 5 pick next year in the draft. I just hope Baalke's gone so he doesn't draft another D-lineman or LB when we need a QB.

It also doesn't help that we have no WRs worth anything to throw to.

You're crazy if you think Kap won't play if Gabbert continues his struggles this week. If Gabbert can't look serviceable vs a defense like Dallas that is in no threat to put pressure on the QB, he's done and Kap will have a chance to get his revenge on AZ and get back to owning them like he has always done aside from 1 game. Chip is trying to redeem himself and get some wins again

I am saying if it comes down to him not playing all year it sure as s**t isn't racism. If we stay this bad and he doesn't play...it was a financial decision to protect the franchise from having to pick up the tab on another injury guarantee.

For the record...I think he will play and possibly as early as the second half of this weeks game.
