Garnett possibly suiting up this week? I know Davis will still dress if healthy and Martin plays both C/G so his versatility (and only versatility) puts him above Garnett but we will see.

Would like to see him activated, but wouldn't be surprised if Theus got the nod instead. With AD out, we don't have a backup tackle if Staley or Brown gets hurt.

Great point. It would make more sense to activate Theus instead

I don't think our defense is a joke or a fluke, I think that they are for real and I am a believer in them. But man we got to keep cam off the scoreboard. We will see how the short week affects them

wasn't that after a 3rd down stop like on the first drive of the game? lol

also noticed at one point when we were on D, the crowd got really loud between a 1st and 2nd down when the play was being called in. Then when the Rams broke the huddle, quiet as fk. Also quiet on 3rd.

it was right after brooks and armstead "snowed him under" for a sack
I don't know who is looking out for Cam, but somebody better be assigned to him or he'll have 100 yds running by halftime. Chip saw the game, and he knows. Just curious how he is going to handle those broken play runs. Most of them went right up the gut.

probably just sounded like that on TV. I was there in person and shocked that the crowd was actually loud on defense, especially 3rd down (still lots of yelling on offense though )

It's the new influx of (smart) Oregon fans...

True, but Brooks and Bowman will remind the young guys to keep their contain. I expect them to play much better against Newton than Denver did. Denver lost some very good defenders this offseason and the niner DL is bull strong. Great game to test Buckner, Armstead and Purcell! Dial should be fine--though not as strong, he has valuable experience.

That will be job one in the off season for Garnett. He will cross train at either center or tackle, probably center.
Expected:
Panthers 27 - 16

Unexpected:
49ers 20 - 17

I could definitely see that. Garnett seems like he could play center in a pinch if cross-trained there. We might have done that this year if NFL rules allowed him to participate in OTAs before graduation. Instead he only had time to focus on guard.
