NY, ever consider that Chip didn't call any long pass play (20+) and he did that on purpose? throwing deep isn't the QBs job. His job is to call the play Chip wanted .And pretty obviously, Chip wants to get his short passing game down before he brings in long passes. Has nothing to do with Blaine's, or kap's cojones. QB just follows chips calls.
If chip wants to call WCO dink and dunk, well, that's what we'll see. When he wants long passes, then well see those. Right now, it seems he wants to get simple stuff down pat, repeat it and then do it again. There will be a time when he brings in deep passes,, but first we have to have a guy who can catch them. We seem a bit shy on WRs at present and without Kerley, here less than a week, that game would have been a lot harder and a lot closer. This is chip...thru and thru. I think the one long pass was really just to let them know we MIGHT use it again, and was used to back them off a bit. I don't think there is any more to it than that. And chip's calls resulted in a pretty good result....wouldn't you agree?
