Should the 49ers cut Colin Kaepernick?

Lol, so everyones saying trade now??

Months back people were scoffing at the prospect of Baalke paying Den or Cle to trade him and gain most of his salary back and get a nice draft pick in return and be forced to pick up a Qb better than Gabbert.

Ya gotta know when to buy and sell in this game and Baalke is terrible at it, sadly.

well, QB rankings:

Gab
Driskell
Tie...ponder, Kap

I know he is paid for. He looked just like Kap when last seen last yr....but rusty, slow, and he darn sure can't go thru progressions.

And did you note...the team looked like they gave up when he was in. With gab, Driskell, they played hard. Maybe put him on IR and try to move him....oops...could he come back and say then he was injured and we owed him another yr salary? Nope, I would make the break now. The team is just not with this guy, plus he still can't read a D nor go thru progressions. Didn't we have this situation last yr?

Make a clean break now. Nobody is making him a starter again...and I think the team looks as if they feel that way too. Wish he would have taken that offer from the Broncos. He just isn't that good guys. I feel bad for him but he dragged our team down...at one point in 2nd Qtr, we had 20 plays to their Os 56 plays...and you know Chip hates that. My guess is gone. Doesn't cost chip any money to cut him.

From now on he will be a negative force to have on the sidelines. And get ready for franchise QB draft next yr. sad, so sad. I was sure he was going to play better. But he looked like a duck out of water. If he was that rusty, why play him? Problem is, that if he didn't play tonite, he would probably been cut later. Use his slot to keep another guy.

I bet Trent is on phone already, seeing if someone wants to trade a 7th for him...and his salary is already paid...I think someone will take that chance....Cleve, for example.

Otherwise, a clean cut and he gets all his $15 mil...not bad for the guy who won't play a down this yr. A real good deal. Plus now he gets a yr to recuperate...and can try Den, Cleve, Jets, Bills, next yr. Man I feel sad about this.

This one would hurt because he's been such a good football player. I think they'll keep Miller, though, for special teams and versatility. You could probably plug that guy in at linebacker in a pinch.

1. Theres no way you can know what progressions, bla bla bla was happening since you can't see the field.
2. Driskell was playing against worst talent and didn't look good at all. No Qb looked good. They all looked like crap. So the rankings don't change.
3. Your last sentence proves Baalke dropped the ball months ago by not trading Kap. Not sure why Baalke name isn't mentioned your rant.

I agree I cannot watch Gabbert, I'd rather see Ponder or Driskell out there. This dude has to be the most boring QBs to watch ever.

The stats back that up by his terrible 3rd down success rate. But wishing an injury is way too far and unfortunately Kap isn't looking too decent himself, right now that is.

Then don't watch the games or post about them on the internet. Problem solved.

Maybe Trent can trade him to the Jets for a 7th and Chester Cheetah.

I don't know if after two preseason offensive series that it's already time to pull the trigger... But if we go that route than I'm hoping we find a way to get Watson in next year's draft. Trading up, his stock falls from #1 overall, etc (it would be painful but we could tank and try to get the #1 pick...) Gabbert isn't the long term answer, IMO.

This, I wish he did better but that didn't happen. He does have alot to prove but he's a player for the 49ers and I'll support him until he moves to another team...lol.

We don't need cap room and can't save money by cutting him, so, why not keep him.

Now, if it come down to where another player at another position is more valuable to the team than Kaepernick, then and only then, will he get cut.

This kid took 12 snap ls in a preseason game after not playing for a year. We want to cut him? Lord have mercy . He will be fine. Just need some reps
