If we are that much in need, play Brooks inside and let him his veteran experience come thru, let the younger players play. Baalke did say that they used Tank wrong and he seems quiker. I suspect they are going to be true to their word about Tank and not control him but just let him play and get upfield against the run or pass.

I am guessing two reasons we and others didn't pick him. One he was injured, add that with undersized plus Borland flashback. Still the seventh pick of the draft for us was undersized and his experience is scant, just that he is super fast. Scooby, though may be like Chirs Spielman was productive from a big school with mediocre combine, but productive player who made the pro bowl.

Undersized is OK is you've got great instincts like a Borland or Spielman. Scooby doesn't strike me as being on that level. I bet he finds his home on the practice squad.

Could work out for both sides. Tulloch would be a nice 2-down run stuffer to pair with Bowman for a season. We were soft in the middle last year. Ward gets to finally complete his move to safety full-time.

I kind of agree. Didn't understand round 3 or round 4 picks on CBs who have started very few games in college. Just didn't make sense for our team. When talkin' about Buckner - Baalke talked about number of snaps and games played by him over his career at Oregon as a huge plus...and then goes on to draft guys who have hardly played more than a handful of games. Makes little sense.

Still don't think there is a clear draft strategy. I liked the first round picks and I liked couple of late round picks...but don't understand the strategy.

yeh this++. Baalke is a dumpster diver. That how he shows the world how good he is.

Nobody can figure out the CB overload when we are desperately trying to build a smashmouth d.

The mentality about ilb needs to be that there are 4-5 starters in every class and we have to go find them. happened last year. Will happen this year.

Plentry of guys available instead of redmond. we just didn't prioritize.

The tartt experiment will last about as long as the first time he gets trucked by a pro guard.

Zone got spoiled with Willis/Bowman. No team in the league has 2 all pro ILB

We were spoiled and I honestly want to get back to that. Our defense from 2011 to 2014 was a wonder to behold. I wonder how much work Jaquiski Tartt will get at ILB. Particularly if we are up against pass heavy teams.

Its not realistic or sustainable IMO. We had a lot of cap space tied up there and the whole defense benefitted mostly from Justin Smith. Willis and Bow are greats in their own right but it was the DL that gave them the freedom to work.

Between Buckner, Amstead, and Lynch -- the idea is to have a decent ILB to clean up the leftovers, if there's any.

I think we are in the making of a monster Dline. With power, size, and quickness combination. It's going to make Skov into a Pro Bowler.

Agree. If, there is no changes and we are stuck with Bowman, Wilhoite, Hodges and Skov. I'm really hoping that there is a FA or soon to be FA out there that is an upgrade and play alongside Bowman. Damn, you Borland, sorry I was thinking out loud. NEXT YEAR DRAFT, WE'LL GET THE BEST ILB ! !

Agree with Zonkers, Slow and get off blocker, 2 down LB.Why draft Scooby, he wont even beat out our 4th ILB Skov.

BTW Have you guys seen the mini camp pictures of Tank Carradane? He actually looks like a real OLB. Looking Trim and looking good, cant wait. I wonder if they may be thinking of doing that with Ronald Blair. Ronald don't have the size for a D-line but if he trims down like Tank, oh snap we got something special. Then, we can finally get rid of Brooks.
