Assuming nobody gets traded (Miller, Kap, Bethea, Brooks), which would make it a lot easier, this is what I would do.

(3) QB: Kap, Gabbert, Driskel
(4) RB: Hyde, Harris, Davis, Taylor
(4) TE: Celek, McDonald, Miller, Bell
(5) WR: Smith, Smelter, Patton, Ellington, Burbridge (Simpson was ok but I'd rather see the young guys)
(9) OL: Staley, Beadles, Kilgore, Garnett, Brown, Tiller, Theus, Cooper/Thomas/Martin (2 of 3)

(7) DL: Armstead, Williams, Buckner, Dial, Blair, Purcell, Dorsey/Garrison Smith (I'm sure TJE will make it though)
(4) OLB: Lynch, Brooks, Harold, Carradine
(3) ILB: Bowman, Hodges, Wilhoite/Skov
(6) CB: Brock, Johnson, Acker, Reaser, Redmond, Robinson
(5) S: Reid, Bethea, Ward, Tartt, McCray

(3) ST: Dawson, Pinion, Nelson

It will be tough to choose OL, CB, TE, RB, and especially WR with like 6 guys competing for a spot or 2. I'm sure we will have an IR or 2 which will clear things up and a few trades would help clear up the log jams as well.

Can Harris catch at PR or has he done KR ? Stats if he has?

Ellington was not the answer at both last year by anyone's measure.

if Hayne can gain the confidence of new ST coach, where does that put him?

Importance of a good PR and KR to a team is surpinsgly but often forgotten.
You guys are a little quick to assume Driskel will make the 53. I see him more on the P.S. year 1. Plus Lewis already knows the offense.
I think it's too early to make any 53 predictions, personally. Have to see how Dres Anderson has recovered from the knee, also see how Eric Rogers has grown and see if he can re-adjust to the NFL, among many other players who should've improved over the past year.

Can't wait for pre-season already.

Probably Ellington
Haven't looked at the offense side yet, but I'm pretty sure I have the defense figured out.

FS - Reid / Ward
SS - Tart
CB - Johnson
CB - Brock
Nickel - Redmond
OLB - Robinson
OLB - Acker
ILB - Bowman
ILB - Reaser
DE - Buckner
DE - Armstead
NT - McCray / Ward

Probably won't see too much of McCray / Ward at NT. For the most part we will be running a 2-1-8. I like the originality by the FO to invent a new defensive scheme, props to Baalke!

what about Prince
Driskel from Florida wouldn't make the team, but the L-Tech Driskel should be a good fit for Kelly's system.

Can Prince be a KR/PR option? He's supposedly fast and strong

The D looks like it will be very competitive this year. Crazy competition throughout the entire secondary. The DL looks to be in great shape -- especially with a healthy Dorsey back in the fold by Sept. Just need to find a pass rushing OLB and a starting caliber ILB -- via trade, or next year. We are in good shape to take a major step forward.

The offense seems like it doesn't have many clear cut #1 guys, outside of Staley and Hyde. Everything is an open competition. Our success on offense will largely hinge on Kelly's ability to navigate it through the season. Still not confident we have the stable of RBs to sustain us the entire season -- especially with Kelly's desire to run the football with frequency. But I feel better about the OL and Kelly's ability to choose a QB from two talented players. Nobody really knows what to expect out of the offense this year.

I suspect the defense will force many more 3 and outs this season and give the developing offense more "at bats" to find themselves.
