This. It aired in 2013 I believe. I think if it was made today, Willis might not have made the cut.

imo Willis deserves his place on this list... Rice, Montana, Lott, Young, Willis. Top 5.

Was watching NFL network yesterday, they had an hr long show dedicated to the 49ers and counted down their top 10 greatest 49ers players of all-time.

Here is their list:
1. Joe Montana
2. Jerry Rice
3. Ronnie Lott
4. Million Dollar Backfield
5. Steve Young
6. Patrick Willis
7. Roger Craig
8. Dwight Clark
9. Charles Haley
10. Frank Gore

Leo Nomellini - 10x Pro Bowler. Played 14 seasons without missing a game due to injury. 1st 49er ever drafted as a 26 yr old ex-Marine strongman. Voted best DT of 20th Century. Best DT I ever saw play. http://www.profootballhof.com/players/leo-nomellini/

Bob St. Clair. 6'9" 265 OT. Blocked 7 FGs 4x All-Pro Played on goal line defense. Started in 5 Pro Bowls http://www.profootballhof.com/players/bob-st-clair/

Jimmy Johnson - The Original Shutdown Corner #1 Draftee in 1961. 6'3", lightning fast, and unlike Deion who would avoid making tackles and contact at all costs, Jimmy would lay you out. Outstanding speed, Leaper . 4x ALL-PRO, FIVE PRO BOWLS. . .47 INTs, 615 YARDS (both were 49er records). . .The opposition avoided throwing to his side of the field http://www.profootballhof.com/players/jimmy-johnson/

Totally agree on all three - that's the challenge with trying to pick 10 players from a franchise this old. Those guys are in the Hall of Fame - any Hall of Fame player has got to be on his franchise's best players list. Of those three, though, I have to say that Johnson was the most spectacular. I don't remember who they were playing - it was at Kezar - but I have this memory of Johnson guarding a guy down the left sideline and then just as the ball is thrown, racing all the way over to the other side of the field to get an interception. They wouldn't throw it at him, so he had to intercept throws to other defenders' guys. Unbelievable.

Replace gore with TO, I'm good

I would probably replace Craig with T.O.

Gore > Craig

Ya I agree, Owens needs to be on this list, but maybe just remove million dollar backfield, move everyone up a spot, move Gore up to 7, I'd place Owens at 6, and move Craig to 8 and Haley to 10, replace Clark with someone else.. maybe Bowman?

My list would look something like this,

1. Rice
2. Montana
3. Lott
4. Young
5. Willis
6. Owens
7. Gore
8. Craig
9. Bowman
10. Haley

I was too young to witness some great players (born in 92), so im sure there are some people Im leaving out that deserve to be on here.
dwight clark should not be on there IMO. Give me Bryant Young over Dwight. Lol I just hate Dwight as he played apart of our downfall when he tried to step into the FO picture

How is Haley a more important/better 49er than Willis?

Even if you could argue the talent, how do you even compare the loyalty?

Based on talent, T.O. should be higher than Gore. But when discussing who was the better 49er, Gore should be higher.

This would be my top 5 based off who I've witnessed. (excluding Montanta, Rice, Young, etc...)

1. Willis
2. Gore
3. Bowman
4. B.Y.
5. Owens
