The real question is what has Baalke done with all the lower, heck any picks over the last few years? Absolutely, nothing! So who cares?

Trenton Brown? Aaron Lynch? Bruce Miller? Low picks all. So, your point again?

WTF? Do fans even LOOK at our drafts?

Kilgore, Dial, Acker...

For s**ts and giggles UDFA Brock, Williams, and Boone.

Baalke has actually drafted better in the later rounds than earlier rounds lol

Agree
Baalke has done a good job at getting value out of our late round picks

Dial
Miller
Kilgore
Lynch

All four right now are starters on this team and were no higher than fifth round picks

Trent brown looks like a potential starter
His udfa class has been good Boone was solid for us Ian got extended and Brock also

McCray was a solid pickup also for st purposes

I even like his last few first rounders armstead could be a stud and Reid should get extended soon

Jimmie ward just needs to be played at safety IMP he isn't a CB

He has gotten good value with Carlos Hyde in the second round

Baalke's weakness is acquiring outside free agents other than Torrey smith he hasn't spent big on anyone else Antoine bethea could be seen as one but it was more solid value

He has also gotten great value out of Mid tier guys in free agency look at Jonathan Goodwin Dan skuta donate whitner

Though He has had some bad ones though shareecre wright was horrible and wasting money on docket the was a bad mistake

Initially I was upset but most of these deals signed day one and two were ridiculous amounts both total and guaranteed

I forgot his waiver pickups brooks was a great pickup yeah he gave him a big extension but it isn't hurting th cap and the deal guaranteed him like 8 mill at signing and those de escalators are a godsend

Plus he has shown he will re sign his top players look at bowman and his extension even Kap and his deal was great cap wise even if he didn't live up to it

I am having patience I know signing guys like ray ray arsmtrong isn't sexy but he is a solid st player

And he kept Dawson for another year which is huge

I'm not going to panic either AB , the only disappointment for me was not going after Trevathan , I thought we could have signed him to the deal he got from Da Bears ...but I'm glad we aren't signing players to those ridiculous contracts , which would cripple us down the road ..but I expect Trent to fill some holes through free agency to add depth , but the draft should net us some solid players ...I'm loving the warchest of picks at our disposal

So if theres no contractual benefit to signing players through draft rather than udfa, how important are these low round selections. It seems most teams are using these rounds for regional / scout faves that dont step on each other.

More important now than ever. Benefit...they can't say no. At the rate the niners are being labeled the worst franchise in the NFL, it might help to have some lower picks. How many UDFAs would pick the niners over Carolina, Seattle or NE?

Travathan was the guy I hoped they would target as well! Agree with both of you...Baalke is so easy to discredit if you refuse to look at his hits.
