The real question is what has Baalke done with all the lower, heck any picks over the last few years? Absolutely, nothing! So who cares?

Trenton Brown? Aaron Lynch? Bruce Miller? Low picks all. So, your point again?

Well you can't trade compensatory picks, so Trent will have to trade all our other picks, for twice as many picks in next years draft. Since Trent also plans not to spend big in free agency, OUR NEXT GM will have a ton of pick, and cash! Trent is setting things well, for after he gets canned!

As we used to say when I was a boy, "Piss or get off the pot"...looking at you Trent!
So if theres no contractual benefit to signing players through draft rather than udfa, how important are these low round selections. It seems most teams are using these rounds for regional / scout faves that dont step on each other.

I'll take every extra draft pick we can

why such a low pick for Gore?
You don't just look at players left through FA, you have to add players arrived through FA as well.

Good stuff , this is how were going to get better , homegrown players is the way to go , name a team under .500 that improved by spending big on a few free agents?? ..despite Baalkes past drafts , this will be the make or break draft for Trent ,his back is against the wall now, so I expect a strong draft next month 👍👍👍
Not the Baalke-thread...

Because you own the player you wants rights for 3 seasons. in UDFA the player has the leverage as they can pick the team that fits them. If you dratt a player the player has to play for that team. There is a saying past round 4 it is almost better to be a UDFA as a player because you can pick a team with limited depth at your position, increases the odds of you making the team.
