It'll be interesting to see what Kocerek can do with him. One thing the team has done pretty well, especially since Kocerek came on board, is develop a strong DL rotation.

I still would consider Bonitto, Thomas, Enagbare, Sanders, or Malone in the 2nd or 3rd.

Id say Givens is serviceable more or less, nothing special. Hurst on the other hand is a good player when healthy imo. I hope he can stay healthy this season as he and Armstead can be a nice inside rushing duo on money downs.

No love for Ridgeway? I think he'll be a great backup at NT behind Kinlaw, as long as he's healthy(Kinlaw that is).
Excited to see how he does here, our edge depth is insane. Literally when the backups are in we have starting edge rushers.

Hoping we grab a NT in the draft in the like the 5th/6th a la DJ Jones. That's the only part of the line I'm a little worried about. If Kinlaw takes a huge leap it's going to be fun watching them all year.

Yes sir!

Nice rotation esp. if Kinlaw can just, literally, stand there and not get moved.

LDE/W9: Samson Ebukam; Kerry Hyder, Charles Omenihu & Alex Barrett
2i: Javon Kinlaw; Chris Slayton & Hassan Ridgeway
3T: Arik Armstead; Maurice Hurst & Kevin Givens
RDE/W9: Nick Bosa; Jordan Willis, Kemoko Turay & Dee Ford

The inside after the 2 starters are weak.

Givens was very very good when Kinlaw went down, Hurst needs to stay healthy, or he's the odd man out.

Also excited to see Turay as a 49er this season, and I agree with All_Knowing, would be great to find another gem like DJ at NT in the 5th or 6th.

Givens is a guy that shows a couple flashes here and there but right now he's JAG. 57 grade last year...really struggled in the run game and adds very little rush. Solid rotation piece but he could definitely get upgraded. And that 2i is a nice position to target for later.

PS: I'm not saying he couldn't make a big jump this year though. We've seen that before.

Givens may not be the most consistent player but he makes high impact plays all the time. He's always getting penetration too, remember that game against Minnesota where he broke free and blew up Cook in the backfield and caused the fumble? He does some great things even if he allows some run plays here and there.

GIVENS a very good player... it's obvious that he's no starter but he does produce... BUT he should only be used on passing downs..

This Turay signing is an ENIGMA to me.. .. I hope it's a good one.

Even if Turay only gets on the field on pass rushing downs, he's very effective on a per snap basis. He will be a good signing especially for the price we got him at

Just looking at this made me think of "JAILBREAK D"…

Ebuk. KIN. Arik. Bosa. And then where we just have to stop the 3rd and 8 pass, sub in Turay and Omenihu at outside LBs, and watch 4 EDGEs all have a run at the Qb. Fantasy sure, but who wouldn't want to see it at least once?

True, those are the flashes and you touched on him getting washed out too. He has a chance to grow more and grow into consistency too. Let's see how he plays this off season!

It was so funny to hear Maiocco refer to Kocurek as the DL's Bobb McKittrick. I've been saying the same thing. Because of him, you can just keep buying cheap 1 year rentals and drafting later round guys and UDFA's and get the most out of them.

Now, if we could find another Bobb McKittrick for the OL, we'd be in business!
1yr $1.7M deal, max of $3M, $1.6M base salary($1M GTD), $100K workout bonus, $1.3M in NLTBE incentives for 12 sacks, & Pro Bowl, starts at 6 sacks, so none of it counts, not a bad deal for a good young EDGE rusher, I can see the thresholds being $500K for 6 sacks, another $500K for 12 sacks, $300K for pro bowl on original ballot.

He´s a really smart signing. When you´re playing win or die Football come December, having edge rushers like Turay on the rotation is crucial. The great thing about the D-Line at the end of the season and the PO was that it could come from everywhere seemingly. Of course when you have Nick Bosa, everything is easier but the rotation on the D-Line was great with tons of players contributing.
