Keep Gabbert, draft a QB, draft OL, draft LB (draft a TE), and can Tomsula.
All the above B I N G O!!!!
I would add DE/OLB or DE/NTs on the top of this list. Our front seven isn't very good at all. Hopefully bow can get healthy, after that, we got issues.
draft a big take on two olinemen type DT
Don't want Ad back. Can't trust him. If he comes back we should trade him.
Why? Because he was having prolonged concussion symptoms and wanted to recover properly. He's worth more to us than a 5th round pick (at best).
He is a decent, not spectacular, run blocker. Pass protection is not good. He left the team, he could have gone through recovery with the team if he had chosen too. I don't trust his decision making. What if he gets hit in the head and quits again? Why do you think he will come back and play at a high level? How often does that happen?
IMO the best option for the team was that he retired (I think Baakle probably talked him into it) because if he and doctors thought he couldn't/Shouldn't have played they would have had to put him on IR and paid him for the entire year and he'd be that much closer to freee agency. Just a hunch.
I never thought AD was an issue needing replacement. Maybe I missed some of his issues in pass pro or run blocking. I did like the attitude he brought to the o line. But on the other hand I don't think he will come back and be issue free. If whatever he was going through was bad enough for him to take a year off, I am not sure anybody can move past that. I would be really surprised if he can come back at all or if he does make it through a season.
