Fix The Lines

I read the various forums on this site daily and I have never started a topic/thread--in fact, I rarely respond. I searched and could not find a thread about fixing the lines as the number one priority for the off-season. I watched yesterday with the realization that it doesn't matter who is playing QB or who is covering receivers if we can't do something at the line of scrimmage. I would not care if every pick this draft could be spent on shoring up the offensive and defensive lines and then use any free-agency on one or two specific skill players. I am always thinking of John Madden's theory that football teams must be built in the middle on both sides of the ball. People with more football understanding/knowledge please help me out.

You are correct. With the high draft picks we will have and the money we have in cap space, this can be done. I think right now, people are more thinking either fixing the line or taking a QB. This is the first time in many years it seems that fans on here are ok with the receivers. I don't think anyone is thinking we should spend excessive money or a high draft pick on any skill positions (CB, RB, WR). Right now, it seems the consensus is O-line, D-line, or QB, as it should be.

Offensive line should be priority #1. In the 90's, dallas proved that if you have the best OL, you will bring home Lombardi's.

Defensive line should be priority #2. Remember when the Niners had the immovable defense, and it took mid-season for opponents to score a rushing TD, and kept rushing yard under 100 a game? If I remember correctly, it was seattle, and they scored one from the 1 yard line, not a huge rush.

At QB, I feel we are fine with Gabbert. He showed a lot of promise, and in his only 2nd game and up against the #2 defense, and AT seattle. The defense let seattle run circles around them, which gave seattle the win.
