this.

Not yet but when the defense doesn't drop those balls that hit them in hands but rather return them for picks six's then he will be.
I think if he keeps looking good, then we try to extend him early before he gets too expensive. Not sure what that value is but it will depend on him playing well.

NOTE: If he plays well vs ARI, then the front office needs to seriously think about extending him. Not just because it is ARI but because I don't think ANY SF QB in the last 10 years has had 3 consecutive solid to good games yet.

+1

If he keeps it up, he'll get paid and be worth it.

Now, it would be an interesting question if the OP meant trade value. In any case, I'd rather keep Gabbert, but if they are in position for Lynch/Goff and trade Gabbert for a nice pick that helps them improve the OL/front 7, then I'd be intrigued.
he could be our bridge QB, if we elect to draft one early next year ?
he will be a serviceable back up. and lol at the people saying he's been playing solid. man, we really have some low standards for our QBs

yah it reminds of the dark years when guys like Tim Ratty, Cody Pickett, Ken Dorsey, JT O Sullivan, Troy Smith came in and played decent for a game or two and people were ready to anoint them as the chosen one.

i am to upset about our alleged coaching, o line play and phantom defense to deal with gabbert. how about if we address that when or if that stuff starts to happen?

i think i agree with mayo on this, but maybe i just am horrified to think sus may be right and we could be back to that mind set

i just hope our wretched offensive line and alleged coaches do not ruin the guy in the remaining games. the guy has worked so hard to get to a point where he is more than respectable after his night mare he had before he came to us. I just hope all the pain he left behind him is not waiting for him up ahead

Optimism is definitely up, just shows we've got little to root for this season.

We shall see how it transpires. For the record I hope Im wrong and he turns out to be the next franchise QB.
IF he and Vance hook up more in the next game he'll get paid for sure.
