Is it time hit the reset button?

This team just almost needs to be gutted from the bottom to the top. I'm not sure who you really invest in for future success because their is such an overall lack of talent outside of Hyde and............ I'm not sure who else The coaching staff is laughable, the o-line is in shambles, the d-line was suppose to be a strength, the LB's are a shell of their former selves.... The secondary .... Where's the silver lining for this team? It's bad, and I don't think we realize how bad.... Time to start over with Cousin Jed at the helm....... FML
This shouldn't be a question lol
Define reset...

We need to clean house in the coaching ranks and we need to find a new QB, rebuild the OL and add playmakers at corner and pass rusher.

There are key pieces here but hard to tell how many are legit with the horrendous coaching we have. One thing is clear we do not have a QB who can be with this franchise for the next 10+ years.

We'll need a chance in coaches(really we'd need changes all the way to the owners but that's not going to happen) and bring in someone who can groom a legit QB. Rebuild the OL so it can actually keep that guy upright most of the game.

After that things will get easier.
Reset button twice in two off-seasons?

Just saying
There is no reset button. Building a good team isnt some wave of a wand or a snap of a finger. This is why it was stupid to be so ungrateful and short sighted when you had a more stable coaching staff.

Good coaches and impact players dont grow on trees. This is what a lot of folks asked for when they whined and complained about an 8-8 season.
We did this past offseason and its still ongoing.

Lol, about 6 weeks too late
Start with a new coaching staff and an upgraded OL. I think the defense being so up and down.....stuffing Freeman one week but letting Rawls run all over them goes right back to the coaching. Mangini has tried to take personnel and make them fit his scheme rather than make his scheme fit the personnel. Its not working, time to pull the plug on him.

Beyond that, center is a major need, it'd be worth every penny to bring in Alex Mack from the Browns in FA. A lot of the OL issues start with the center spot, with teams being able to too easily get pressure to collapse the pocket. RT is another major need, the good thing is that the draft is pretty well stacked in tackle talent. They need to find someone that can deal with speed rushers far better than Pears can. Brown really should be starting from here on out, its not like they have anything left to lose other than the coaching staff trying to save their jobs.

More speed at ILB. Bowman still looks like he is recovering and Wilhoite looks confused way too often for me to even blame it on the coaching. He's a backup at best, nothing more. Adding someone like a Jaylon Smith would have a major impact right off the bat. In general more speed on this defense is a need.

But the coaching is just abysmal, they had two weeks to get their stuff together and the entire team came out looking flat, unprepared and even disinterested. That falls 100% on the coaching staff. Tomsula might be a good DL coach and a super nice guy but he's proven that he's not HC material at this point.

No it was reload first lol
A reset is by no means a guarantee we're going to escape this vortex of suck.

Jed York, meat sweats, and Gabbert greeting you at the door is not going to entice any coaching staff into coming here. And the Yorks are certainly not going to overpay.

Our best shot is hoping Baalke hits a homerun with this draft, some potential talent develops, and there's some progress with Gab and whatever QB is behind him.

Pretty much agree with everything you have detailed other than the fact that we don't have any key pieces here. Some might say Carlos Hyde, some might say Aaron Lynch, but in actual fact you could gut the entire team and noone will miss a single soul on the current roster.

In short, there isn't a single position that is not in need of help from QB to O-line to RB to D-line to OLB to ILB to CB to S and even P!! That is how bad it is.

Oh well, if we can't fire Tomusla & Co just yet, at least start by drafting a new franchise QB.
We're working our way to a top 1st round pick this coming year. If they trade Kap for picks of value then we can rebuild through the draft IF Baalke doesn't try to draft guys coming off career threatening injury. Kilgore and AD back on the Oline helps too and we could probably get a solid Guard for a 2nd rounder. If there's a sure thing QB looking at us in the 1st, then we should take it.

Baalkes ability to draft Wrs, or even sign them like Torrey Smith still hurting us. Maybe York can hire a football man who will Fire Baalke and the whole coaching staff
Reset button when they fired Harbaugh this coaching staff is a joke

I don't want the losing stank of Tomsula anywhere near our new franchise QB if we draft one.

Start by finding a real professional to become the new head of football operations, ie a Carmen Policy or Bill McVey. Baalke and Jed will almost certainly not attract the right coach...The up and coming coaching candidates will not want to work for this dysfunctional ownership/management team. They will need to see solid, experienced HOFO who has all the power before they would ever come here.
