That means I've been a fan for 27 years. Seeing this team be gutted like this for no reason is so freaking stupid.

I've barely caught any games this year (in Korea) and quite frankly, I don't care. I'm not going to dedicate my time and energy to watch the front office not even try to field a team.

I've hardly paid attention to the NFL this year and my life has been a lot better for it.

This will be my last post here. It's been a long, fun ride, but I'm hoping off at this junction. I've got much better things to do then to waste my time, energy and money watching the crap that Jed is sending out every Sunday.

These are the kinds of times that separate the diehard fans from the bandwagoners. Good bye!

Honestly, I can't say I don't feel the same way. I won't give up on the 49ers, but it's hard to watch what these York f**kers have done with this team. Can you blame people for not supporting these a*****e? We are making them money by showing up to games, watching in on tv, and buying their merch. IMO, if a 49er fan can say after 20-30-40 years of watching them that they are done, then maybe we are the bandwagon fans for sticking around with these s**tty Yorks.

I'm not blaming you or anyone for how they feel regarding this. Really. All I'm saying is that it's a lot easier rooting for a successful team than a struggling team. It's easy for me because it's more of an emotional deal than a sports deal. I've been watching the team since the early 60's when I was growing up in SF. I've seen 2-14 Niner teams and I've seen 18-1 Niner teams. Anyone around here who is absolutely certain that it will be a long time before they're relevant again simply hasn't been paying attention to the NFL IMO. Lots of times, teams bounce back with just a few key draft picks and free agency signings. And this idea that nobody good will want to come to the team just has no basis in historical fact. Great players go to bad teams all the time.

lol, sorry, but not any team can just turn it around in one year. we were s**t for almost 10 years because nobody wanted to come here because of the FO and owners, and we will be in the same position again for at least several more years. there's a reason why teams like the browns, jags, raiders, and many other ones remain awful year after year. it took the raiders 15 years to finally field a decent team, and the browns has been working on that for like 20 years now.

sorry that my homerism just isn't oozing through me right now when i saw this team and many others suffer for multiple years because of s**t ownership.

Bye.

If one bad year and an 8-8 season are enough for you to turn your back, good riddance. IMO, the team was far worse in 2004 and 2005 and they got themselves out of it.

I SEEN ups and downs. Pre Walsh... it got VERY dismal.... what's scary now is that it's sort of a clueless meltdown of a top contender. I've lived around Cinci or the Bay Area most of my long life. Right now ...The Bengals are well managed, solid, undefeated. The Niners..are rudderless, may not win another this year. Are still just trying to find the first step toward a start over. They have risen from the rubble before... but...it takes LEADERSHIP. York needs to wake the fk up, get a good GM, a real head coach. THEN... you can begin the next rise.
49ers were:

Nope. These guys play for money. Every year, real good free agents decide to play on teams that were not good the year before. This year, Revis signed with the Jets, who were 4-12 last year. The best DT in the league, Suh, went to the 8-8 Dolphins. Rodney Hudson signed with the 3-13 Raiders - of course, Crabtree went there too. Nick Fairley signed with the 6-10 Rams. Wisniewski signed with the 3-13 Jags. Our own Culliver signed with the 4-12 Redskins.

Every year, it's the same general story.

Just more weeding out the bandwagoners.
I just hope by the time my son gets to enjoy our season tickets we are back on the up and up.

That is the only positive out of this season. All the bandwagon fans will go away. Have fun rooting for the Panthers, Bengals, Broncos or Patriots,
Goodbye Band Wagon fans! I'm sure you'll be happier rooting for another team.

I'll admit that I've lost a lot of faith in Baalke, but on the other hand, he's got a lot of cap room and probably a high draft position and lots of picks. If you think about it, this team would be in a lot better position with the addition of just a couple good O-linemen, another serious pass rusher to complement Lynch and better QB play. That's obviously not all they need, but they'd be a lot better. Have Niner fans really forgotten that sometimes teams can be horrible one year and a contender the next?

Not really. He struggles at normal TE tasks (settling in zones, elevating for contested passes, taking hits to secure 1st downs), and excells as a deep/speed threat. Peyton can't go long anymore. Not sure how well VD is gonna do in Denver.
