Any losses along the way are purely coincidental.
I simply don't want to see a bunch of "ugly" wins. If two or three units are firing on all cylinders and we walk away looking like a team that's really on the upswing, I'm ecstatic. But if we're tripping over ourselves and eek out a couple wins we shouldn't have while sucking less than the other team, and we screw up the draft position, that'll suck and it's hard to see how that benefits the team.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but "learning to win" while under the pressure of the season, with playoff implications, is a lot different than "learning to win" while you're kicking around the basement of the NFL with the playoffs completely out of sight.
If we're not stuck with a bunch of incompetent coaches next season and we have a core of quality young talent, then I'll take what the draft gives us.

Why would I give a crap about a win that happens when the team is mathematically eliminated from the playoffs?
I don't root for 49er wins; I root for 49er Super Bowl trophies.

I like both. Losses suck and so does watching your favorite team play terrible football.

Losing week after week demoralizes a team , I would rather see them go into the off season with some hope and momentum!

The draft is a crap-shoot anyway.
Exactly how I feel! So you win the top pick by tanking and draft Ryan Leaf? No thanks!

It's a crap shoot no matter where u draft. But it's a fact that the higher the pick the more likely you are to draft a superstar. I hate losing more then anyone but at this point the losses hurt less if gabbert and the young guys play good. Just thinking about the future. Still would never hope they lose. Just looking on the bright side.

i want to see the 49ers win.
The only reason i would be okay with losing is not because of draft position but because of Jim Tomsula. I want him out. He is a horrible head coach who should have never put on the headset. He is a great guy and a great defensive mind but he has no idea how to run a football team. I really hope he stays with us as a assistant coach but i want someone else in the driver seat.
