Definitely. Cant believe they didn't learn their lesson with Singleberry.
The sad part about it is that you can tell he is a genuinely a good guy, cares about his players, and a good D line coach.
Not only have they find a good coach now, but also someone to replace him as a D line coach

I wonder if it was because he would have wanted to change the defense to a 4-3?
We don't do knowledgeable s**t anymore. Quinn or even Bowles would have been great hires that had first hand knowledge of main divison rivals. Mike Shanahan could've been the older school offensive guru with ties to the past and a track record of success with almost every QB he's ever been in contact with. He also was still putting out great offenses(last two seasons as HC had 9th and 5th ranked offense;had RGIII looking like a stud)and it doesn't hurt he has ties to our dynasty days.
Long story short, we had options and opted for a DL coach that wasn't even gonna get a coordinator job unless it was with us.

This.
But the fault is with GM and ownership. Baalke should be fired too.

Any big "Purge" would have to start with Jed admitting he was wrong, pretty much wrong about Everything......I just don't see him doing that, even though he should.

We don't know if Quinn or Bowles actually wanted to come here though...Gase should have been the pick (or Vic)

Tomsula should be fired. His entire coaching staff should be fired. Trent Baalke should be fired. Paraag Marathe should be fired. Jed York should be fired.
Should be. If their jobs actually depended upon them being competent. But their jobs are secure because the results don't matter. If results mattered Tomsula and his staff wouldn't have been hired in the first place. If results mattered Trent Baalke would have been replaced last year. If results mattered Paraag Marathe wouldn't have anything to do with football operations given that he has no knowledge of football. If results mattered, Jed York would never have been hired as the team CEO by its only two share holders - his mom and his dad.
This franchise is inept from the top on down. They capitalized on the goodwill of a product built by Eddie DeBartolo and raised to heights by Harbaugh not seen since the Eddie days to fund a stadium through public dollars. And immediately proceeded to destroy that goodwill by firing Harbaugh and replacing him with yet another pathetic coaching staff a la Erickson, Nolan, Singletary.
The York family has firmly established itself as the worst owners in professional football, if not all of professional sports. They lack a fundamental understanding of what it takes to be successful in the NFL and, with the exception of Jim Harbaugh (who they unceremoniously fired), they have yet to hire anyone that would indicate that they know what they are doing or have learned anything in the 16 years that they have owned the team.
But this thread is about Jim Tomsula. He has coached this team for 7 games. We have not been competitive in 4 of them. He has pulled the same "gotta look at the tape" lines that Singletary used. The same "hold me accountable" lines that York has used. The guy has no originality, no personality, no system, no philosophy, no experience, and no credibility. He is the least qualified head coach in the NFL. There are probably 35 head coaches in college that are more qualified to run an NFL program than he is. He has surrounded himself with coaches that have no business keeping their jobs. And he remains stubborn in his refusal to make any sort of lineup changes despite overwhelming and obvious to the casual fan evidence that there are several players on our team that are simply under qualified to be starting in the NFL.
It is inexcusable that Tomsula would refuse to bench Devey or Marcus Martin or Pears after the six starts made. This is a physical and violent sport. These guys are liabilities that have directly resulted in multiple hits on the supposedly franchise player. And yet Tomsula defends them. Won't acknowledge the need for a change. That is idiocy. The man is an idiot.
But, like I said, results don't matter. So who cares if people get injured. Who cares how many losses we have. How many fans are enraged. How many jokes are made at our team's expense by the national media. None of it matters. Cause you can make a reservation to have dinner at Michael Minna 's new restaurant at Levi's and, although it may run you $500 for two, the tasting menu is world class.
f**k this organization.

Not a chance of that happening, no new coach would want him on their staff even if he agreed to it.

Tomsula himself potentially could be a good head coach but definitely he was given the job way before he should have and basically has no shot with this situation or with this team.
Like Singletary he simply wasn't connected well enough to assemble a quality coaching staff around him that you need to succeed and even more so when you're not a guru but an overseer type of coach.
When you can't even assemble the staff for the side of the ball you specialize in and you have to Frankenstein the staff on BOTH sides of the ball that's a huge red flag.
This is why being a successful coordinator is important because it garners respect among players and more importantly among peers because it proves you know your stuff. Doesn't mean that will translate into being an successful head coach but everyone at least can respect the knowledge you have on the side of the ball you specialize in. His peers didn't respect him because they thought he was a puppet coach but if he was a great coordinator that wouldn't have been the case.
So he never should've been hired and keeping beyond this season would just be folly.

One writer said the Niners have 3 games this season with only 10 first downs total... The rest of the NFL has one. Just a Pathetic Offence....

I don't see the point of firing him now. I think he finishes the season, then gets canned. And we are back at square 1. No coach/no QB.

I think his marching orders were to give Kaepernick a final run and develop the new guys.
They've gone out of their way for Kaep (maybe except blowing a bunch of money on an OL), so Kaep's fate is in his own hands (and mind).
If some of the younger players come on towards the end of the year, Tomsula'll probably get more time. He's still got 8 weeks, but I'd like to see more of the new guys playing (Hayne too). If not, then there'll be changes in the offseason (all or some of staff).

No chance. He was handpicked by the front office. I don't even know why this thread is not locked. 7 weeks into his first year and you think it's even possible ? Come on

The guy forever has a facial expression that reads "huh? What the f**k is going on?"
A guy like that should've never be put in charge of this team.

Yes, he has to go. He was not ready and that much is obvious.
