That's because he keeps getting hit in the backfield.

Baalke is turning out to be Terry Donahue 2.0 whiffing at that many draft picks and ruining the franchise again.

I agree with Sofa. I would make oline changes first before I'd bench a QB. It's been my experience that when a guy gets the Yips the WORST thing to do is blame him. QB, pitcher, kicker and any positions that requires touch and feel require a deft touch when handling them. It usually takes a a few brights spots in their game to get them right. If you bench them it creates a mental hurdle that's hard to reverse. We seem to be asking him to constantly change and to his detriment he's listening. He, IMO, needs to say f**k it and do what he wants not what others think he needs. Truth be told I'd have him reach out to Harbaugh because that's the LAST person that actually had him right and he trusts him.
Agree. Kap has been the worst starting QB in the league these past 2 weeks, but I'd like to give him an opportunity to snap out of this funk behind a better o-line. Make that change first and see what happens. I don't want to change QB unless you know it's for good. Don't want to play musical chairs like we did in 2010 under Sing, that was a joke.

OK, that's BS.
There were young players on every level of the defense yesterday playing very well. Lynch, Acker, Williams, Dial, Ward, Armstead...all had their moments against one of the most prolific offenses in the NFL.
I think the season really turned when Aldon and Anthony Davis left. Those were the biggest blows.

Aldon did not leave - he was RELEASED, and was never charged with a felony, and is now starting for the Raiders, chasing down QBs.

What I want to see is the QB who played his game, followed the plays called and won against the Bears in his first game and was confident in his abilities.I'm not a QB but I have been in my trade a long time and new supervisors and training classes all teach you different ways to perform the same task and sometimes you just listen to these guys and have to laugh because what you do works well. He needs to tune out the voices and play his game and trust the way he used to play. He has had success but I really think his head is swimming trying to follow everyones advice.
This is becoming repetitive...
1) Kap: I want to be careful here. I don't want to make it sound as if it's all his fault but I also don't want to scapegoat him and make excuses for him. There are issues all over the offense, but a big part of the blame for these last two performances falls on his shoulders.
I've never seen him look like this. After looking like he was taking a step forward in weeks 1 and 2, it looks like he is playing scared now. Throwing at peoples feet, throwing behind receivers, over throwing guys by 10 yards, standing in the pocket (when he has time) trying to go through reads, but completely unwilling to throw the ball or take even the smallest of chances. When he does decide to throw the ball, he throws late or inaccurately.
In short, he's looking more and more like the pre-2011 (or more accurately pre-mid 2010) Alex Smith. What is the most frustrating is that we've all seen him play so much better than this. "Defenses have figured him out". I really don't buy that one. Yes, teams have figured out what he's good at, but in 2012 he was NEVER this inaccurate. He'd fit the ball in tight spaces. He wasn't afraid to make a mistake. This isn't just a case of what defenses are doing to him. This is a player that appears to have lost all confidence in what he sees.
He looks paralyzed. He's stuck in his head. I don't know if there is a way out or if he's permanently damaged...but I for one think he needs to keep playing if for no other reason than to see if he CAN bounce back to see what they do next year and beyond at the QB position.

Of COURSE he was released. Anyone who thinks the 49ers had another option needs their head examined.

Marvin, you realize Armstead played just 11 of 73 plays, according to Barrows.
