What words best describe the 49ers fan base and how are we viewed by the NFL community? | Page 9

Not being a native of SF or the states and fairly green to the game i was interested to understand how the SF fan base is seen by the rest of the community, and how do we see ourselves? I read about the case of violence after the game last week, thats part of what got me thinking of what type of a fan base are we and how are we viewed by the wider community? By no means am i taking that as an example of 9ers fans, that happens in sports stadiums all round the world, including where im from, it just got me thinking what is the perception and culture of 9ers fans over the years? If i asked other teams supporters name 5 things or words that come to mind when i say '49ers fans' what do you think they would say?, and what would you say yourself? Cheers and GO THE 9ers..

Put me down with Phoenix, I could give a rat's hind end what others think of us. I knew of the white wine drrinkers during the Bill Walsh yrs, but lately, I would guess the most I ahve heard is that we are a bunch of sniveling losers. As Phoenix says, who the hell cares. I do know this. We are like the Phoenix, and will rise again. I KNOW that.

No different than other fan bases. They all act the same way. Our name happens to rhyme with whiners so grown men who act like 6th graders feel the need to use nicknames for everything (krapernick, smiff, alice smith, etc).

Every fan bases complains when s**t isnt right on their team.

i assume all fans to complain about the refs when they have a good team. have you noted the refs thread went away starting last year? hahah. 36 is right about the stupid nicknames. i am an a*****e but even i have tried to refrain from using those dumb nicknames

Haha tru. Although people did complain about the refs this year but it was overshadowed by laughable coaching and a worthless OL.

there was no need to blame the refs for any of our losses. the so called teachers and coaches took care of that quite nicely. i am still stunned that the coaches actually thought there was nothing wrong with our team.. and .. ahh never mind. between that and first and goal from the 7
