Now that bush is out for game 3 we hopefully will, see more game time for Hayne.

My untrained view.
I heard the stats of that the second half of Kaep in the Steelers game was his best half ever. I hope that has set the lightbulb off for him. At elite level in any sport the mental side of things is huge.
Look at our favourite Aussie golfer at the moment Day, got that big one under his belt and has been unstoppable since.
The second half the Steelers might of taken their foot off the pedal a bit and it had junk minutes, but I'm hoping that for Kaep it give him confidence in what he was doing. Either trust in his receivers, trust in his arm or confidence to stay in the pocket. What ever it was that worked it helps him to take it up a notch.
Happy to be posting again thanks to mod English creating Hayne v2.0.

I haven't rewatched the game, but his long passes against a team with a lead would normally be very impressive. Most teams play some prevent when the game is out of reach, limiting explosive plays...but Kaepernick completed some nice passes. Hope this means he is getting into sync with Smith and others!

Let's also hope for a breakout special teams day! The preseason games had the niners starting with great field position and limiting the opponents to the 20 yard line...let's see more of that with Hayne, White or whoever!

The game day thread runs too quick!!!

It looks like Kap has lost his confidence. This game is disappointing as I thought we had started the year with a strong game from both the D and the O.
I am so happy about the 37 yard return by Hayne.

When can a booth review occur?
Can a coach review a holding/face mask etc penalty?
The only time the 49ers crossed midfield was when Jarryd Hayne caught Drew Butler's punt at the SF44 and returned it 37 yards to the AZ19.

Jarryd Hayne's 37-yard punt return is the longest for the 49ers since LaMichael James returned a punt for 40 yards in 2013.
To my Aussie eye it would appear this team is rather s**t?

Kinda. But take out Kap's two early passes that were TD intercepts, it would've been a little closer I think.

Seems to be a team more suited to a running game and shorter swing passes rather then the long bombs. So based on that, why not just focus on that then and be good at it? Hyde is a gun at running. Bush I guess is good if he's not injured. Davis...er....maybe. Hayne good if he gets space I guess.

Cardinals read the offensive plays like they already knew them. Why? There was nobody open at any time and if there was , Kap never had the time to pick the right option. The Cardinals defence broke though the 49'er s line pretty easy. Sort that out and he can make a pass stick.

Thats my noob at NFL thoughts anyway.
What I did not get is why after the end of the 3rd, the coach didn't throw JH in at RB or something for game time. How can one improve with maybe 3 mins of game time?

So change the team into a different team with a different roster and we're all good. Hmmm, I like your positivity.
But seriously folks, those penalties! I swear every single f**king time that we made a positive play (barring the scoring series that started with Hayne's return) whether on O or D, someone gave away a cheap as s**t penalty. We talk about "coach killers" in the NRL, there must've been a dozen of them today, fair dinkum! Does my head in.

Yeah that one in particular for unsportsmanlike conduct by bowman on that loose ball was just total horses**t, and so critical. In Aussie sports a ref would be crucified for that. It's all they would talk about in the analyst shows.

Absolutely. I still don't know how that penalty came about. Total horse s**t, indeed.

That's not what I said. Or meant. Or said.
