If Peterson runs wild, it's because he's a great player. Not because of any players we lost, we're still stout against the run along the Front 7. Top graded run defense during pre-season, according to PFF. I feel really good with Dial-Williams-Dorsey, and Bowman leading the LB corps. We'll be a top run defense again this year.

I know it's cliche, but the key for our defense this game is stopping the run and putting Bridgewater in long passing situations. When he dropbacks, we have to be able to put pressure on him any way we can.

Bridgewater's 2014 QB rating under pressure vs. no pressure, and blitz vs. no blitz:

No pressure -- 92.7
Under pressure -- 70.0

No blitz -- 87.8

Florio hating as usual predicts niners lose 30-21. Also "experts" from Fox CBS and Espn pick in favor of Viking 22-7. Espn really hating.11 ofthe vikings 22 picks were from espn "experts".

Not a prediction about the score, but I predict that Hyde will have nearly as many, if not more, yards than A. Peterson.

Hi again, fellow fans. Just came to tell you guys that I have upgraded our chances of defeating the Vikings due to them losing 2/5 of their O-line (Sullivan/Loadholt). Those are two very big holes for them to fill! I love it!

It's too bad we don't have anyone that can apply pressure, or get penetration.

With all that being said, I'm upgrading our chances from a 34-13 Vikings blowout win, to a 24-13 Vikings win. This put's us in position to be able to capitalize on a big TO and earn some respectability going forward!

I think everyone is under estimating our run game. It will be close but I think we squeak this one out by 3-6 points.

Vikings win 24-17. They're just more talented right now and are currently favored by 2.5 points even though it's a home game for the 49ers.

The Vikings have holes on the O-Line, but so do the 49ers (everyone but Staley and Boone). QB's and receivers are similar - Wallace = Smith, Johnson = Boldin, and Rudolph = Davis. I like Hyde, but he's nowhere near as good as Peterson right now who should still be one of the top 3 RB's in the league. Kaepernick will be running for his life behind our offensive line so our best shot is him breaking some long runs or hitting Smith on broken plays.

Our defense is no longer a top 5 defense in the league that can carry us. I hope we're still middle of the pack on defense, but Bowman is our only really good player (Bethea and Reid are pretty good too). I don't trust our corners and I don't know if we can generate a pass rush or stop the run like we used to.

Minnesota was 14th in total defense, 11th in scoring defense last season. They should be better this season with Peterson keeping the defense fresh. They have some talented young players at every level (Shariff Floyd, Everson Griffen, Anthony Barr, Harrison Smith, Xavier Rhodes) and are returning pretty much the same defense as last year. If Waynes develops, they'll have one of the better young secondaries in the league with Rhodes, Waynes, Blanton, and Smith and their defensive line is solid.
