"The one thing that did strike me, just looking at the roster...(despite national media-B.S.)...I was still struck by how talented a team the 49ers are."
"I've known Jim (Tomsula) for a while now...he's all football...I think he feels very good about the roster, as he should, particularly on the defensive side of the ball...Jim is old-school; he wants to play hammer and nails football. He wants to grind it out, be physical, play tough, hard-nosed football, which, by the way, fits the division they're in."
"It's huge! (having Bowman back). And I think one FA-signing that should not be overlooked is Darnell Dockett...but Darnell Dockett was one of the best DE/DT in the game before his injury and I think he's probably rejuvinated a bit being with a new team and new environment." "Aldon Smith is a great weapon...you can move him around...if he can play 16 games that's a vast improvement."
"People tend to forget with Colin Kaepernick b/c he had such great success early that he's only been a full-time starter for 2 years...he's still a young QB learning."
"A lot of it (success and continued next steps this off season) has to do with scheme and design (talked about getting more expansive with CK via Geep and involving VD in the game plans again), trying to figure out the absolute best ways to utilize the talent in all phases: offense, defense and special teams."
"And that's another thing that is absolutely worth mentioning...particularly on the defensive side of the ball. Eric Mangini is the defensive coordinator but they have two other defensive coaches who were coordinators in this league, Jason Tarver & Clancy Pendegrast and they've been successful coordinators. So this is a coaching staff that I think is very very good that's being overlooked. Even offensively, Chris Foerster, the offensive line coach, is widely regarded as one of the most respected in the league. This is a high-high level coaching staff and I think that is something people need to be aware of b/c it's not being talked about enough."

Kerr has been a champion as a player so he knows what it takes to win. Plus he's been an analyst for years and seen all that experience on the court. The coaching staff in place right now for the niners, is there anyone thats won the SB? The niners definitely have the talent but can the coaching get them to the SB, is the question.
If they make it to the SB and win......no doubt Baalke and Jed are geniuses.

This!
My issue is not so much the talent, but the change in coaching and the loss of leadership on the field. Gore, J.Smith and Willis where all core leaders of the team. That is gone. Moreover, you can be supremely talented and not have chemistry (2012 Eagles say hi). As you know, there is a lot that determines a TEAMS success. I just think its going to take time for this coaching staff and the players to work out the kinks.

It would be worth the wait. I'm personally aiming for 2017 for the 49ers to be a wining team

Possible but why 2 years? If the talent is there, with the right direction and a few tweaks, even a college-first-time NFL coach can find success (Harbaugh).

This is the same dude that picked the Lions to go deeper into the playoffs than niners back in 2011.
He just says s**t to get a paycheck now.

Deep down Jed is really hoping we turn out like the warriors.
Fire a coach that got the program turned around and hire a coach that can get us over the hump.
Problem is Steve Kerr hired an A+ staff and was told by the owners to spare no expense in doing so, whereas Jed/Baalke new staff seems like a downgrade from the previous one.

Our current staff is full of ex headcoaches, ex coordinators, and some of the best at their assistant positions. For gods sake, Romans only other O coordinator experience was at the highschool level! Apart from the dome patrol, what other accolades did Fangio have? Morton....lol
