Really sorry to hear about this...you never know what curve balls are going to be thrown your way in life. I hope your parents had/have some life insurance and that you'll have a steady job, my friend. That's a hard role to play but you'll become closer than ever. Follow in the footsteps of Willis and become the man your siblings need. You got this! But I am very sorry for the hardships and loss, fellow Niner. I just got a CT scan for an unrelated thing and it showed very swollen lymph nodes in my chest.

I have a biopsy scheduled next week. If anyone knows anything about it PM me please.

I want to thank u guys..I don't post often but I do visit this site everyday for my 49er fix..Like I've said I'll struggle for them and strive to be the man they need to keep them together..I do have a good steady job with enough work right now that I won't have to worry about not getting a paycheck for the foreseeable future...I also have a 4 year old daughter of my own and a wonderful fiancé..The way she has handled this has been nothing short of amazing..obviously this situation has thrown a giant wrench in every plan we've ever made and she has and will stay right by my side..I know it's going to be just as hard on her as it will be on me and maybe even more so..with all the support of her and her family, my family and friends, and of course u guys I know I'll have the strength keep my family together and give these guys the life they deserve.. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart..I truly appreciate it

I am going to sound like a d**k, but am going to say it anyways: It sounds like you cannot afford to take care of 4 additional children, so find them a good home in a foster home or with another friend or family. Consider their future education, development, and your own child as well. They need resources it sounds like you cannot provide. They will thank you for it later in life!

U don't sound like a dick, trust me. Every scenario has crossed my mind and is being contemplated. My mom started this go fund me page because she doesn't have life insurance and wanted to try and cover the funeral services. It does get expensive. But I do have a good job but I am still early in my career. My grandfather also has lived with my mom for at least 10 years so she could take care of him as he's gotten older so that will be another responsibility of mine but. His pension from being in the army for 33 years is a pretty good amount so I believe financially we will be ok. I don't wanna come across like I'm begging for money. My mom just thought this would help with the burden of the funeral cost

If burial cost is the concern you should check the nearest Veteran Affairs and consult with an HR representative about Veteran burial benefits. Depending on the service connection of your dad, your family may not even have to come out of pocket and your siblings may be eligible for survival benefits. One thing I can assure you is veterans that are eligible can be buried in any of the National cemetery and they will receive a marker provided by the VA. With your dads dedication and service, I don't see any reason why eligibility would be a concern. I
