It's a good listen if you got a few minutes to spare:

Good Lord, he just put it all out there. Kawakami is not pleased.
Didn't mention him by name, but I'm sure he was mostly referring to him.

Russillo & Kanell did the interview. Sorry the link probably doesn't work on mobile without the app. I listened to it on my PC.

No worries, thank you... I'll just listen to it on my computer.

Why worry, we have some fans who acted like the media here on the zone, so are you really surprised. Plus many just do what comes out of the local press who cover the local teams.
The press just go on what is given them, many are wanna be players who have never played the game on an organized level (pee wee football don't count in my book), but think they know the game cause they talk to other people or players or coaches. Many also have closed minds. It is like when Bill Walsh started his so-called west coast offense which Walsh hated that tag-line that the press gave it, everybody started to copy cat. The press is no different. They can only go by what happen last year. What they think they know (which is little really and which is how it should be). Like the Sun Tzu saying goes -know your enemy and know yourself find for naught in a 100 battles. So why let your enemies know you which is what the press can do-loose lips sink ships.

Yeah I much prefer to have the media dog us. Its annoying, but the players hear it and it gives them a bit extra to play with. They all watch ESPN and the NFL Network too. The Vikings were hearing evrybody talk about how good they were gonna be and expected them to curbstomp the Niners. The opposite happened.
Being the underdog with everybody backing the other guy is the most advantageous position to be in. This is probably the only time the media is actually good for our team.

Yes, the national media, had us losing this game big, at home. We came out and smashed the Vikings, AP, and Teddy B looked lost! We played like a totally different team, quick to the line, fast tempo, zone runs, rollouts, and blitzed more than any team in the NFL. The game was not as close as the score indicated.
What does the national media, say? Same old power run Niners. Their defense is the same as ever, nasty. Most boring first half of opening weekend.
Nothing about the massive changes in style for the team, no admission on their part that we may not be cellar dweller. No excitement, other than for Hyde's Nasty spin move. Pretty much pronouncing us DOA in Pittsburg this week. More talk about AP, Teddy B, and Big Ben, then us!
I hope we blow Big Ben out of the water! I am really excited to be wrong about this coaching staff!
Go Niners!

So you were down on this staff all summer too? Well at least you admit it. I just want our fans to keep the faith and always give our guys a fighting chance because everyone else sure as hell won't. All we've got is us!

49ers at Steelers
MDS's take: I was impressed with the way Jim Tomsula had his 49ers ready to play on Monday night, but I have a feeling we're going to look back on this 49ers season and say Week One was the high point. The Steelers should win this one comfortably.
MDS's pick: Steelers 31, 49ers 17.
Florio's take: They have 11 Lombardis between them, but no one expects either team to seriously contend for another in 2015. New 49ers coach Jim Tomsula grew up in Western Pennsylvania, and he's surely seen plenty of these Steelers home games that are plodding and methodical and smothering of the opposition. As long as the Steelers cover Vernon Davis.
Florio's pick: Steelers 20, 49ers 13.
Makes me feel better about the game. Michael David Smith doesnt know his ass from a hole in the ground.
When guys like him and Prisco pick the 49ers, I get worried, like something really really horrible is going to happen.

"As long as the Steelers cover Vernon Davis." Good one, Florio - that's all they have to do to win the game!
