I guess I'm the only one who doesn't believe in Wilhoite as a legit starter.

I know it's impossible but I want to wait until we can find a star. We need the right guy to replace Willis and eventually Bowman....no easy task.

I hear you, Afrikan. I'm not sold on Wilhoite either as the long term starter at that spot.

I think he's serviceable as a 2-down player, not all 3 downs like we were forced to do last year. Once Willis and Borland went down, you're in trouble if Wilhoite is your top ILB.

For this year, I expect Wilhoite to be off the field on 3rd downs and passing situations. Tartt will sub-in and be a hybrid LB/S.

Wilhoite is average at best.

while willhoite didn't play at the level of an all-pro player, he certainly wasn't a liability out there. i think he'll do ok. i love his story to the pros.

I share the concerns on Wilhoite, but I think he'll be okay. I'm hoping that a stronger pass rush and rangier secondary means that we don't have to ask him to be Willis. He just need to be Wilhoite and take care of his assignment.

I wouldn't have minded Kendricks (Eric), but the first three picks should help with the rush and the middle. Maybe we can get Myles Jack next year as a longer term option for linebacker.

i just worry we'll sign him to a contract that might not give us incentive to replace him...a contract that keeps him around even if he isn't playing consistent.

kind of like the situation we put ouselves in with Colt McCoy...and did the same dumb s**t with Blame Gabbert.

i don't hate the guy, and I appreciate that he came through for us last year when we needed someone to step in....but that is where I think he would be useful....to step in. that being said..hopefully he seases this opportunity and doesn't look back.

it is what it is. ill continue to root for him and hope he continues improving with bowman by his side.

I don't like saying this but its something that should be taking seriously, Bowman is now up and practicing, but that was a serious knee injury, players in the 70,s and into part of the 80s, would have retired, we hope he comes back and is just like he was when he was injured , but there's also a chance he comes back and has lost speed and just isn't the player he used to be , or the knee just doesn't react well , and he has no choice but to retire, Medicine and Drs have never been better , and I believe he will comeback and play at Pro-Bowl level, but if he doesn't we shouldn't be surprised , its not like we haven't seen it happen before, and to top it off MLB was let's say average at best talent wise in this years draft , I'll leave on mentioning this "If Willhoite was cut tomorrow or anytime in the future , there's no Gauranty any team in the NFL would pick him up" , That's another reason why we should hold on to Brooks , he can play OLB , DE , and MLB
