It's one thing saying Kap isn't a great pocket passer and never will be. It's another to say the guy sucks. He sucked on Sunday. Overall he doesn't suck. He's inconsistent but even with that inconsistency he's done more good than bad.

He's not Joe Montana or Steve Young...get over it people.

It's easy to say let's replace him but who with? Right now this team has a lot of other holes.

We're getting pushed around in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Kap is being pressured on 43% of his dropbacks to lead the league. Vernon Davis is playing ballet rather than football. It's embarrassing. Kap is still down the list of our biggest issues.

You bring in a #1 overall pick at QB(I'm still not convinced we're THAT bad) and what happens? How many #1 overall picks go on to be a Joe Montana or Steve Young? Everyone wants a Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers but there is no guarantee there.

Unless Kap keeps playing like he did vs Arizona there's no reason to get rid of him at this point. His contract can be cut at any point and we know he's going to keep working to get better, I think that's one thing we can all agree on...the guy is a hard worker and wants to be better.

Fix the OL and add some more playmakers who aren't afraid to get hit and you'll see a difference.
Agree 100% There is a common denominator among most that are complaining the loudest right now and one doesn't have to look too hard to see what that is.

And to genus, I don't hate Kaep. I don't comment in this thread often because being constantly negative is pointless. But I feel he is a detriment to the rest of the team. Just like being a Jazz fan. I don't hate Trey Burke, but I also don't feel as if he is a starting PG.

I keep hoping Kaep proves me wrong. s**t I traveled 900 miles to watch the opener, but it's the same mistakes week in and week out. Horrible foot work, not letting plays develop, not using the pocket. 3 reasons even Kurt Warner said he came to him. It's rather discouraging that these problems he worked all summer on still persist.

What is this pocket you speak of?

These are great days for people who don't like Kaepernick. He's making it easy for them right now and they're having fun!

Yea idk what they expected out of this season it was an easy prediction we were gonna stink and problems are more than the QB position it starts at the top.

Step up, evade pressure, set your feet, make the throw.

Cleanest pocket he had all day, and he threw that wounded duck to Torrey. Biggest wtf of the day in a game full of them.

Overall tho, the pass protection has not been good. We can all point to individual plays and find a decent pocket, but according to PFF, Kap has been pressured a league leading 43.2% of his dropbacks. No offensive line in the NFL is getting beat as badly as this one is. We see it on film, Martin/Devey/Pears have been awful.

Worst pass protection in the league + struggling QB = terrible offense.

He's more worried about evading the hit, then completing the pass. Remember when QBs where mor worried about completing the pass then getting hit...

We all know the O line is bad. But some quick passes would help

It's basic QBing
That was the perfect play call. Smith would've had a real nice gain on that play. He did have a clean pocket to step up into. He was just lazy and threw the ball off his back foot. Just focus on Martin though. Can't e a worse o lineman in the NFL.

#20 is closing in fast, Kap rushed his throw because of it.

I agree the best thing to do is step up in the pocket to try and evade him, but there is a high probability he is sacked if he holds the ball longer. People would then call him an idiot for not getting the ball out sooner.

Kap was a colossal failure in this game, but knowing he's been pressured more than any starting QB in the league, its hard to put it all at his feet.
