sorry to say real life isn't like playing Madden...with the amount of energy used..

there can be a lot of factors

the throw could have been off - incomplete
the RB that hasn't been on the team all year could drop it - incomplete
or
use the for sure thing and use his legs

Kap's scrambling is a checkdown in itself. When he has daylight in front of him, and the checkdown option is in front, I'd rather the have him run with the ball and have the checkdown (RB) lead block. Because Kap had the sideline, he was never in danger of taking a hit.

I agree to an extent, but it also looked like he was potentially in some danger just after crossing the line of scrimmage. The defender he avoided at the 35 yard line looked to be in position to dive at his legs and / or strip the ball. He didn't take a hit on that play thanks to his speed, but I think most coaches would encourage the dump-off. Just my opinion.

What is it with you guys and condescension?

The rest of your post is what I'm after. Sure, there is a risk that the pass falls incomplete for one reason or another. There is also a risk that Kap pulls a hammy trying to streak up the sideline or gets hit by a defender (even a cheap shot as he steps out of bounds). I love Kap's mobility, but I'd also love to see him make that kind of pass a couple of times per game. Keeps the defense from playing downhill all day long.

Edit: People talk about Seattle "knowing how to use Wilson's strengths." I see Wilson making that play pretty regularly and think Kap would benefit from doing it too. It's not a knock on Kap. Not sure why this cadre of posters is so quick to pile on.

Pot meet kettle....

Dude pulls off some crazy moves to keep the play alive AND gets 19 yards in it, and you're questioning why he didn't hit the RB?

Had he cocked his arm back and the person behind him stripped it, everyone would complain about how a smarter QB would have ran with it.

Had he not gotten stripped and got the ball out and Alfonso drops it, everyone would complain about how a smarter QB would have ran with it.

Had he not gotten stripped and after making those plays to not get tackled, he is now off balance, throws it, and the ball goes off target, everyone would complain about how a smarter QB would have ran with it.

Gotta love 49er fans

So much smh on this play. Still a +19 yard gain.

Impressive moves to keep the play alive. I can't tell from the camera angle...if Kap had hit the back running up the sideline instead of taking it himself, would that defender have been in position to make the play?

RB got pushed backwards like 5 yards by Staley so he just disappeared from the play in Kap's mind.

Thl is right. This play has so many lulz.

No worries man. I realize this thread gets heated pretty often...not trying to feed the flames.

I also realize that it was an amazing play and thought I had adequately acknowledged it as such in my earlier posts. Perhaps I should bold and underline like buck does so it's clear. Kap made an amazing play.

Typically inflammatory. The poster said I was acting in a particular way, and I don't see it that way. I asked him to provide evidence instead of just allowing him to make unfounded assertions. How dare I?

Cheers buck. Hope you didn't perceive that comment as an insult. I was just trying to lighten the mood a little, and I appreciate the way your posts are deliberate and clear.

I took your comment as a compliment.

I Love Kaepernick as the 49ers QB. Hes the best thing to happen to the 49ers at QB since the 1990s Steve Young.

Thats my quarterback.

Colin spoke tonight at his former school. Toward the end he says some things about the upcoming season and his work in the off season.
