YES, CHIP WILL BE A BETTER COACH THAN "SITE UNSEEN" MOOCH!!!

Chip will be better than Mooch.

Mooch was way too conservative in play-calling.
Alghough Nolan and Tomsula were even worse- I will never understand why they were so conservative (i.e. Sit on leads)

Niners may lose a game or two being aggressive but at least with Chip you are always in score mode.

But, maybe you could do it with a little less attitude and arrogance. Seriously, you come off like a jerk whenever discussing Kaepernick.

And so do you.

The only time I've meant to sound like a jerk has been when addressing you and the other hostile Kaepernick fans. Why? I was assuming that you preferred that style of communication because you respond that way to everyone when discussing a 49er quarterback. If you didn't come off like a know-it-all blowhard when expressing your opinions, I would have no problem with you or what you say.

Both of you, stop. Now.

Gabbert does nothing exceptional....not...one...thing. And since these folks think Kap can't grow from his flaws, then by the same thinking Gabbert will NEVER be a exceptional thrower, runner, winner, period.

Why would anyone root for someone who can never be the best? At least Kap has a small outside chance of greatness, Gabbert has none. lol.

Thank you. The anti-Kap double standard is laughable. Somehow Kap's "ship has sailed" but perennial loser Blaine Gabbert has nothing but upside. It doesn't make any sense to me.

I don't care who the QB is. I enjoy watching Kap when he plays well and I enjoy watching Blaine when he plays well. If you're a 49ers QB, I support you 100%.

People judging Kap on his 2014 and 2015 seasons when the team was obviously in disarray is a joke. He has a clean slate this year. I'd just rather wait until the preseason to let the chips fall as they may.

You're confusing, "has this QB ever ran the ball before.." and "do defenses have to account for this QB hurting them on the ground".

No defense will treat Gabbert as a running threat, in fact one can argue that is the very reason he made that highlight you posted.

Unless Gabbert goes out of his way to rush for 600+ yards this season (which is not likely as dude hasn't been rocked as a runner in the NFL yet, I doubt he's tough enough to make it, uninjured), he will not be treated as a running threat and thus the passing game under Chip Kelly will not have the advantage or success it had early on.

Exactly! IMO this choice is make or break for Chip's offensive philosophy in the NFL. He has MANY detractors that say it won't work, that it's a college offense, it's too simple etc. Kaep would be the FIRST QB he's had that has experience and the physical tools necessary to run his offense. Vick, for all his speed, didn't run a option type of offense prior to working with Chip. If you're Chip do you risk your career with a guy that really doesn't completely fit your offense? There's a reason Chip was willing to trade away all those picks for Marriota, there are a LOT of guys with the same arm talent as him but very few with the running ability.

I disagree. Chip does need a QB that can run the ball when necessary, but primarily needs one that will repetitively make quick, correct reads, and throws a quick ball accurately. When people quit respecting Kap's passing, and primarily prepared to contain his running, his game has suffered. Chip doesn't need a QB to run for 800yards for his offense to be successful. He needs the opposing D to understand his QB CAN run if he needs, or wants to. A mobile QB, but one that has his passing game be his first priority, and running isn't on his mind every single play after his first read.

There is no double standard. It is ludicrous to say you can't judge a QB on his past seasons. This Gabbert nothing but upside stuff is nonsense. Most people are a lot more balanced than that. What is humorous is the Kap fans saying you can't judge him on 2014 and 2015,because of a bad team/situation/coaching, and then saying Gabbert has never had success while ignoring those same realities. Think I see where the double standard truly sits.

Without a great team and coaching staff Kap fell completely apart. That is the reality. You want to look back three or 4 years and talk about a pretty good QB, fine. But the reality today is that he needs to compete for his job, against a guy who was an after thought when we signed him as a back up. I don't know that Gabbert is the answer to our problems at QB,but I don't know that Kap is either.

Deshaun Watson says all in on this kid next yr because both our current qbs aren't gonna be the long term answers IMO.

Lol, I happen to think neither one are the long term answer either! But as to Deshaun ... Who cares what he thinks?

I don't really feel Kap had a horrible yr in 2014 to be honest...over 60% comp per, 20 TDs, and threw for the most yards in his career...we did see a lot more in the pocket passing/3 wr sets and a lot less play action/read option/outside of the pocket throwing then in the past which didn't help IMO.

He got sacked entirely too much which was his fault, poor OL, poor play calling, and poor WR play.

I agree If anyone can b***h about being put in a bad position it's been Blaine different scheme and coaching staff every yr and given s**t teams.

Like I said neither are long term answers, I'd prefer to see what Kap can do in the offense vs Blaine and I'm sure we get a look at both...I'm preparing for a new QB in 2017 regardless

I just want him in red and gold he can make quick decisions with pin point accuracy, plus he's a running threat as welling. I'd love to see him and chip rolling.
