It always boils down to the same issues with Kap:

1. He's putrid at making pre snap reads. Chip's offense relies heavily on this and it's not a good fit for CK.
2. He still has that slow loopy delivery and he'll struggle in a quick hitting offense.
3. Still has problems working thru his progressions.
4. Does not trust his receivers and is reluctant to throw a timing pattern.
5. Still takes that extra second to analyze "should I throw or should I run."

CK would be a much better fit behind a very solid offensive line utilizing big, fast, experienced receivers. He's stand a fighting chance to succeed. But this does not fit what the Niners have/are doing this year.

Ah the more things change, the more they stay the same....

He may have a slow loopy delivery but he can rocket any ball into any tight quick hitting scenario so theres that. The only one of those things I agree on btw and feel he probably won't change anytime soon, is number 4.

I just wish dude would start throwing with anticipation and start trusting his WRs. This is his most serious knock and it's what's been keeping him from success and it also folds into other perceived problems like not being able to go thru his reads or analyse an extra second longer. I bet any money it's just his refusal to throw the ball before he confirms the WR is in place. He knows what he's suppose to do, he's just stubbornly refusing to do it.

Wish he would go the gunslinger route as he has nothing to loss. I don't know when he changed from what we all thought was a gunslinger on the way up, to a cheap Alex Smith clone (low risk, ball protection).

He has the arm strength, he has the accuracy (2012, you don't forget how to accurate sorry), he has the ability to throw on the run (top 5 in the league), he has the mobility to take off for a first down at will, he has the toughness, he has the balls to compete in the playoffs. If dude would just work on throwing on time, and with good form without panic, dude would be one of the best in the league. Damn it really sucks writing this out.

I don't believe one can make this claim without knowing his reads and progressions. I think people regurgitate what they hear. It does still appear that Gabbert is flawless. Or maybe people think he addressed the shortcomings in his game. If so, I'd like to know which ones.

That said, Kaep's coach even said he didn't have to work on anything. Perhaps that was the problem all along. I find it interesting though that some QB's mediocre play is due to coaching while others it's due to just them. Guess it depends which side of the fence you're on.

It's possible, both QB's are not starters and haven't fixed their games to the point where they can be seen as legitimate starters.

Whats funny is Gabbert doesn't do anything well. Not..one..thing. So zero upside. No one can deny though Kap is one of the best QBs rolling out and throwing on the run. And has one of the strongest arms in the league. And one of the best runners in the league.

Gabbert does nothing exceptional....not...one...thing. And since these folks think Kap can't grow from his flaws, then by the same thinking Gabbert will NEVER be a exceptional thrower, runner, winner, period.

Why would anyone root for someone who can never be the best? At least Kap has a small outside chance of greatness, Gabbert has none. lol.

Why can't you just support Gabbert?

You get mad at anyone who critiques Kap as an "anyone but Kap" hater, but all you do is hate on Gabbert.

One of the Matt's just said the smart money is on Gabbert to start week 1. You might as well get on board if that's the case.
Why is anyone angry at either of these two guys? Calm down.

My best guess is that Jim Harbaugh had him on a tight leash. Colin's tends to whip the ball and his throws sail a bit. As a result, you don't see as many throws over the middle instead he was given the green light on the sideline throws which tend to be safer. You can almost hear Harbaugh saying, "don't throw the ball unless the receiver is open." JH was all about ball control and turnovers were a criminal offense.

Who knows, maybe I'm wrong but if this was the case, Colin was only able to work with half the playbook which also would have impacted his development. Fast forward to now and he's expected to be able to make all the throws and be efficient at timing routes over the middle. His inexperience is bound to show. It's not like a light switch where you can suddenly turn it on and expect him to flourish.

The videos are good because we can make our own judgements but I take his opinions with a grain of salt. I'll again point to how he said we'd be rushing 6 often this year, and then said it'd be comparable to Fangios defense. Anyone who watched even a few games under Fangios knows this is the complete opposite.

When I first trained for my current job, the person training me told me that even if I don't know what I'm talking about, say it with confidence and they'll believe because I'm the "expert/professional". Sakamoto strikes me as that type of guy. He sounds like an expert to the uninformed.

And who the f**k crowns the self as the "49ers beastwriter". That's some max douchebag type stuff.

This

When he tells us how he would feel if he were one of Kaepernick's teammates he loses all credibility, he isn't a teammate and he can't relate.

How this isn't trolling is beyond me but this poster has been able to get by on that without warning it seems.

So he didn't take nudie pics and doesn't have trouble getting off his first read? Go tell Alex Smith about it.
Alex smith has .. what,, to do with anything ?

Ask blindfury... He likes to bring Alex up at every opportunity. Talking about the defense getting 5 picks against the Cards in 2013, he brings up the Saints playoff game.

When did he last bring him up in this thread?

Gabbert is the anti-Kaep and that's why so many are behind him. It is what it is. I don't see either QB lasting long here.

So you don't want to support Gabbert... Got it.
