Not even close. People are overreacting to the guys they lost. Joe Thomas, Joel Bitonio, John Greco and Cameron Erving is a solid to good group and this draft is loaded at tackle.

Ok, maybe not as bad as ours. It's still the Browns doe. I have to think he doesn't have a choice, because right now the Broncos compensation doesn't jive with the Niners FO expectation.

Cleveland, Denver, New York = No one.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. "FACTS" get thrown around but only apply depending on what narrative you're trying to push.

I would say irrelevant to the discussion of whether Kap is currently worthy of being the current and future QB of the 49ers. Fact Kap is 4-2 in the play-offs. Why it is irrelevant: Mark "Butt Fumble" Sanchez is also 4-2 and ranks 4th in career play-off rating among active QBs, Kap is ranked 11th of 18th on that list. So if you praise Kap's play-off record you better be praising Sanchez's even more.

Did you actually watch those games? Clearly you didn't. Stats with 0 context is what you do....as long as they push your narrative...and boy do you work overtime to do it.

But when retention and figuring out a defense comes into play, well in that instance he is not so much a winner. I think Gabbert can beat him out, Gabbert is somewhat athletic and can retain info plus he has a much quicker release than Kaep. Kaep's throwing motion is terrible.

Gabbert has not displayed any of that. He is a terrible QB and a career BACKUP!

IN the offense scheme the merit goes all for Bill Walsh.

The problem here is that Kap doesn 't really know how to play QB in NFL no matter how people insist to bring the 2011/2012 playoffs to the conversations
He is far to be a solid QB because he dont have actually solid QB skills(solid QB skills isn't throw a football 60+mph, running the ball like a Tailback)

Just a reminder Kap had a defense for 2 years that Steve Young and Montana never had. They had to do job themselves.

Oh? How was that D in the playoffs? If I remember correctly, Steve and Joe never had a D give up as many points as the 9er D did under Kaep and won. That said, last time I checked, Kaep never got to play with the offensive talent that Joe and Steve did. Never got to play within a cheme tailored to him or the level of coaching Joe and Steve ever had.

More tired talking points from a Kaep hater.

Evidently I missed the games Joe and Steve won in the playoffs when the D was giving up 25+ points/game. Also missed all the Scrubs they played with on offense and the HOF talent Kaep played with.
Weren't you warned to stop calling people haters? I got warned to stop calling people "Kap fans" and stopped.

If you don't like Kap, and want him traded, then it's suffice to say that you're a Kap hater, no?

Sticking up for Kaep is like still loving a girlfriend who openly admits to wanting to leave you to have sex with Bruce Jenner(Cleveland Browns). I get it... She loved you 3 years ago, so there's a chance.

Not traded yet? WTH? I really don't care one way or another.

The way the word "hater" is thrown around and the people who use it makes it imply I have an irrational reason to want him gone. There are plenty of rational ones to want to send him packing. Why anyone is still optimistic that he can be productive again is beyond me, 5 years in the NFL and his scouting report reads the same as when he was drafted. Of the recent dual threat QBs Wilson and Newton improved their skill set Kaepernick and RG3 didn't and we see the results of that.

They're as much "Kap-homers" as Alex supporters were "Alex-lovers" from 2005-2010 and beyond.

This is absolutely no different. So many fans hated Alex and the "Alexcuses." We're back at square one and some fans learned nothing from the dark ages.

And what's worse is that Kap's resume as a starter from 2012-2015 is leaps and bounds better than Alex's from 2005-2010. But still, fans want want to bail on the QB when the team and coaching staff have regressed.

Here's my hunch about what is happening. Kap really does not want to play for the 49ers any more (probably for more than one reason but I think one of the big reasons is because he doesn't trust management). He was okay with going to Cleveland but is leery of the talent on the offensive line and that Cleveland may draft a quarterback at #2 even if they sign Kap. I think he would rather go to Denver than Cleveland (of course, also because Denver overall is a much superior team and he could plausibly even win a Super Bowl with them).

Naturally enough, the 9ers management want to get the highest draft pick compensation they can in trade. Cleveland is offering a significantly better draft choice at the moment than Denver so the 9ers management prefers making a trade with Cleveland.

How can Kap keep management's desire to get the better draft compensation from leading to him not getting to his preferred destination, Denver? By making salary demands he knows that Cleveland will balk at. I think he's trying to "force" 9ers management into accepting Denver's third round offer (which is much less desirable than Cleveland's third rounder) and then he will be flexible enough on salary for Denver to finish the deal.

So... I think it's a bit of a game of chicken between Kap and 9er management. Will management blink and accept Denver's third round offer or will they make good on their supposed desire to keep Kap on the team? Is 9ers management counting on Kap wanting to leave so bad that he will be the one to blink and accept the salary Cleveland is willing to offer - and the 9ers end up with a better draft pick.

How this turns out may depend on how badly the Broncos want Kap. If Kap and the 9ers management hold out long enough, will Denver cave and give the 9ers their second round pick? If so, I think both Kap and 9ers management would be satisfied.

Games of chicken going on in all kinds of directions probably. It could take awhile before anyone blinks.
I think Broncos ship has sailed. They traded for their QB and are willing to go into the season with Sanchez and what ever rookie they get at 31 imo.
