This can only be an awkward result. It's like hanging on to a bad marriage or keeping someone caged in.

I hope this is a negotiation strategy and not Baalke screwing up.

Still hoping its a negotation strategy as well. Maybe Baalke is going to play a wait game and make the Broncos have to throw the entire sink at us to acquire Kaepernick.

If Fitz/Glennon/RG3 are all gone and none of the 3 go to the broncos we could probably ask for even more. And then theres always the chance that Baalke/jed/kelly simply do want to keep Kaepernick no matter what trade is offered..

I personally stand by the belief that Kaepernick wants to be traded solely on the reason that he and his agent both know the entire NFL world is saying how chip Kelley's system was made for a guy like kaepernick. Therefore if Kap doenst do well in Chip's system, Kap, and his agent both know his stock drops Sincerely. Whereas right now they could try to go to a different team and still keep his stock value high, and on a team that is a contender or more of a contender than us. Its all about money for these players and staying here drops his stock so low that he becomes worthless in terms of singing elsewhere.. Just look at Brock. He dgaf about being on the superbowl team, he wants to be paid and long term

He couldn't possibly want to leave a team that's lied to him, leaked information about him and tried to blame the misfortunes of the team on him? Yeah that definitely isn't the reason.

I highly assume that this definitly plays a part into his decision on wanting to leave. Tbh what you wrote was something i had even typed out but deleted later because I felt it was getting off track from my main idea/point. But still i firmly believe 95% of the players in the NFL are all about the money. And lets say kaepernick doesnt do well in Chips system, and Chip demands a new QB, Kaepernick will be released and paid the minimum and a good chance wont be starting.

Right now him and his agent can play the game of putting blame on the passed front office/coaches etc, and try to get him onto a better team where he can perform better. As i said, our team isnt anywher near being a contender right now, so if Kaepernick can get himself onto a contending team, im sure him and his agent believes that winning can salvage his career, where as returning a 49er, his career is going to be solely resting on his personal ability with chips system.

IN short, A. gamble a year with the already bad 49ers, or B. traded to a team where they are contenders and hope you can salavge more years behind a quality roster.. If kap fails behind kelley im sure his stock drops from 12million to 4million, where as if he gets traded to a contending team, he can hide as i said behind a quality roster and still sit around the 11-12 million mark. Dont forget his agent pulls in part of his salary as a bonus so obviously his agent wants kaepernick to be playing as long as posible

Most pro athletes I know are supremely confident in their ability. Kaep has struck me as the type to bet on himself (especially when you look at his current deal) that being said imagine the upside for him in Kelly's offense. If he were to perform like the other QBs in that offense how much do you think he'd be worth then? He's better than EVERY other QB Kelly has had and he would be inline for a huge payday.

No. We are not going to release Kaepernick. That would be idiotic beyond belief. We can trade him, or keep him. No way we release him, and jyst eat that salary. No reason on God's green earth to do that.
Only a couple of trade options left for Kaepernick: Denver, Rams or Jets. The only way Kap would go to LA is if the 49ers release him. Fitzpatrick just got dealt a blow to his negotiating when Osweiler went to Houston. Denver won't look at Fitzpatrick, neither will SF. He's better off taking what the Jets have to offer. I doubt the Rams interest in Fitzpatrick as well...so Fitzpatrick doesn't have any options except the Jets. John Elway is probably currently trying to draw the 49ers into s**tty trade for Kap, and they are not listening - they are pretending they are going to keep him and pay his salary on 4/1 to increase increase his trade value. One player that needs to be mentioned in Jimmy Garoppolo- New England trade bait. They may dangle him out there. But teams like Denver and especially the Jets would not to give up high draft picks to New England. This leaves the Rams as potential landing spot for Garoppolo. So here is a prediction:

Kaepernick to Denver
Fitzpatrick stays with Jets
New England pulls off a trade with the Rams for Garoppolo
No Woolick they won't . Their 3rd string QB has played one play in NfL, and took a knee. Our qB remaining, GAb, has played 8 games behind a shiddy OL and comported himself pretty darn well...see Thl and Johhny del breakdowns of plays. Gab has been a starter behind a krapt OL. No one knows what he can do behind a good OL, assuming we get a good OL.
Jimmy respect you bro, but NE isn't letting garrop go anywhere. He's a good QB learning from the best qB in football. He stays.

Everyone wants to get rid of Kap, but he's the least of our worries. We dont even have a stinken Oline.....

When Kaep is traded, everything will be fixed. Super Bowl here we come. Those Thad and Gabbert QB battles will be a sight to behold.
Thad and Gabbert won't even be a battle. Both are talented enough its like having Montana and Brady on the same team. Chip will have the flexability to rotate those two quarter by quarter if he wants. Its no mystery why Baalke is saving all that cap space. We are going to need it when we sign these two future HOFers.

I was privy to alot of Graps games @ Eastern Illinois where He played in college, very good Qb then after sitting behind CryBrady all these years,He ought to be well seasoned and ready to go,niners should have drafted Him but hey, the horse is out of the barn already oh well.
Here is what I have a hard time understanding about Kap. Why wouldn't you want to play for a coach who Sam Bradford had his best season under or a guy who made Nick Foles look like a franchise QB. Does he think that there is a hatred by the front office that they will find a way not to start him? Does he hate the fan base for turning on him? Does he not believe he can beat out Gabbert? I believe that for all of Chip Kelly's faults he is a great offensive mind and will get the most out of Kap but worry this shows a lack of character on his side. I know Alex wasn't the exact situation when he was a free agent because we were a super bowl ready team and that had to be a factor when he came back. But he could of taken the money in Miami for us trying to get manning and how he was booed by the fan base a few years earlier or acted like an baby when he lost his job because of injury but he didn't he was a professional. I hope Kap comes back because I think he is our best option but the last few weeks are having question his mental toughness.

@RapSheet #49ers received some calls, but nothing too serious on QB Colin Kaepernick yesterday. Should ramp up today. #Broncos have some interest

He'll be traded or he will be on the roster. Absolutely no reason at all to release him this season. I've seen nothing from him that says he doesn't want to be here and we are not anywhere close to cap danger so it makes zero sense to release him when we are fielding calls for him. We still don't even know what he is capable of doing in an actual respectable offense. We can speculate all day long but teams wouldn't be calling if this guy didn't have talent. Even if the best offer is a 4th rounder and a bag of chips, that is better than just releasing him. Baalke and Jed would be fools to do that
This is for the posters that frequently brought up Kap's contract as a problem for our team... We are 2nd in cap space even with his contract and we still haven't done jack squat with the money we do have...
So what is the point of having the extra cap space if we are not going to use it to get better?
