I recall many thought he'd go nowhere, and out of the gate a trade agreement was made before the 2016 football off season officially began.
Kap may not be a great QB, but to think he won't garner any interest is garbage. Every QB is sign-able, just depends on contract.
It'll just depend whether they'll take it on in a trade. If he's released, teams will have the leverage.
No actually most thought we would trade Alex cause he was making $8M a year I believe.

Kap actually had good games when the line gave him alittle time...this season. He would do MUCH better behind a better Oline with better weapons on Offense and obviously coaching....and a easier division.
and why am I not surprised you are throwing "18 million" out there? what a joke.
You can say what you want but no away that Elway is gonna trade for Kap or a guy like Kap.
Elway is a guy who know how its done in the QB position.Elway himself was a mobile Qb but it was a good pocket passer.
He doesn't get fooled like other people with the "running Qb crap"!
If a guy doesn't have a minimum feel for a pocket passer, Elway is gonna scratch him down

I keep telling folk I don't see what's in it for us cutting Kap without talking him into giving things a go with Chip. This is a reboot for the whole team essentially both sides of the ball. We won't save money letting Kap walk Scott free? If we're going to pay Kap $11.9 million this year he may as well be wearing a Niners Jersey unless we've been compensated dearly to take it off and dress another guy with number 7!
What's interesting is Kaep has not made a single negative public comment about the team or its management. On the other hand the many "leaks" and information from "sources" regarding Kaepernick during the season could be a clue to the competence of the team's management. You couple that with the team not resigning players they said they would with the the supposed savings from his contract and he not trusting the medical staff so much he felt the need to seek outside opinions and you can't blame him if he doesn't want to return.

With the increased cap from 123 to 155 million 8 mil to 11.9 mil isn't a huge jump. Bradford pulling 18 says it all.

Kaepernick isn't getting paid $11.9 million this year. His base salary is $11.9 million, but he's also scheduled to make $1.5 million in roster and workout bonuses. The signing bonus is a sunk cost, the roster and workout bonuses are not. We owe him $13.4 million if we keep him and his total cap hit including the signing bonus is $15.9 million.
If we trade him, his new team will owe him $13.4 million in 2016 and $16.9 million in 2017. That's a huge difference from $8 million per year even though the cap has gone up. If Kaepernick was a free agent, he would not make $15 million a year over the next two years, so I doubt teams will give up picks to pay him that much. Bradford played well in 2015 particularly over the last half of the season. Kaepernick was benched for Blaine Gabbert.

Not sure what your point is. Kap was the new starter. You don't pay $8M to your backup QB.

It will be quite funny if he starts in 2016... which at this point is quite likely.
