I havent watched St.louis really at all, and when we played Stlouis i was working. Is he really that bad now? So surprised he throws 27 TDs 2 INT in a season and then all of a sudden is comlpete sh*t. Guess it happens, we know first hand

Stick with Gabbert, draft a QB early, bring in Foles as a backup.

This for sure! Gabbert can play in kellys system.
Kaepernick would get eaten alive by the New York media.

Yeah, just stick with Gabs and draft a QB with the #7 pick.
Personally I'd love to see us trade Kap and the #7 pick to CLEVELAND for the #2 pick. And I think it would be a colossal mistake NOT to draft a QB with our first pick regardless of where we pick.
I can't believe we may be a Blaine Gabbert 49ers Run team. It really can't get anymore embarrassing. Wait we could resign Cody Pickett an bring back Owen Pochman to replace Phil Dawson

I wouldn't mind taking Bryce Petty off their hands.

A wasted roster spot IMO. I'd love to trade that cap space for some of Wilkerson's salary.

Guys this is a pretty shrewd move by Kap's agent.

Think about this for a sec. Kap right now is injured and this is the *perfect* time for him to force a trade to a new team. Baalke and Chip don't like players who aren't bought into the program. The 49ers would be on the hook to pay him $20 million in an injury settlement and he can milk that well into the next season and hold a clipboard as a back-up. I'm sure Baalke would rather use that cap space and cash for other players since the team is in full re-build mode. Baalke has to decide if he accepts a trade deal for less with an injured player than he could get if Kap was healthy or does he make him a ridiculously high-paying back-up. He may not get much in a trade but he would get cap space and avoid taking a cap hit. The Jets could totally make the case "since he can't work out, we'll offer you a 4th and a conditional pick next year at MOST."

High stakes poker.

Kap needs to go

It sucks if it's true but that last thing I want next season is a quarterback controversy. Blaine did well enough to keep us competitive and with a better coach then tomsula I think we could be dangerous. Especially with a healthy Carlos Hyde and jarryd Jayne in the mix. That's Kelly's type of guys.

16 points per game is not competitive.

CK definitely not happy with #49ers but we have miles to go in this saga. NYJ, HOU, DEN, CLE among possibilities.... @Tha_Green_1 True??

I say Denver. Then he can avoid throwing to Vernon Davis again.

With Geep Chryst calling the offense, with RB's straight off the street and a patchwork OL, its competitive enough. Nobody is claiming that Gabbert would be anything more than a stopgap at best. If Kelly could coax some good play out of Nick Foles and Butt Fumble, I think he could make do with Gabbert while a rookie develops.

Going forward Osweiler > Kap. They'd be smart to just sign him as he's a FA.

This right here is so laughable I don't even know what to say.

You may think it was impressive but it wasn't competitive. If Kelly can make Nick Foles look good, what could he do with a guy who has actually played reasonably well in his career? I think the decision was made prior to Kelly being hired and I have a feeling Kaepernick is gone no matter what but I think he has a better chance of being a good QB again than Gabbert has to be a good QB for the first time in his career.

I do think Kelly's offense could be beneficial to Gabbert who can make quick short throws without having to move well in the pocket.
