are u the same that are worried about Kap not passing his physical? of the 9ers being on the hook for that year of his contract?

well which is it?

if he waited until the offseason to get that shoulder surgery, then wouldn't he for sure not have been ready for that April physical?

The radio station bashes and accuses him for trying to cheat the system...lol But then they also bash him for opting for surgery in the middle of the season...saying he abandoned his teammates.

Just be honest, for some of you...it doesn't matter what he does, you'll find something wrong with it...even if it contradicts what you eventually want.

I'm really not sure why folks get bent out of shape. Players get injured. Kap tried to play through it, but he was playing like ass. So he got benched.

So he opted to get fixed mid season because he knew he wouldn't play, and after watching what they did to Harbaugh, probably decided he'd better get healthy for the offseason because the Niners might cut him and being healthy sure would help getting a new job. Or if they kept him, he might want to be healthy to compete for a starting job next year.

Should he have waited until the offseason, knowing he wasn't going to play and put his future at risk?

lulz fans.

did you not just read that article? His knee injury was the main reason they benched him. How is he supposed to play QB if he can't run or jump?

Why did the team hide this injury?

FVCK GABBERT, KAP COMEBACK TO YOUR OLD SELF

The market will decide Kap's value. If he is a worthless as some suggest he will be out of the NFL next year. The 64 head coaches/general managers will evaluate how Kap has performed under pressure and fundamentals won't be ignored. It's hard to imagine giving up a high draft choice and a substantial salary after his recent performance. A possible scenario would be as a replacement if a team loses a quarterback to injury in the middle of the season. The guy does have that "dazzle factor" but the league seems to have adjusted forcing Kap into a more traditional role which he hasn't been able to master. Hopefully Kap will bounce back but to suggest he has been poorly coached after a lifetime of football defies logic. When the pressure is on he reverts to what he knows made him a star at Reno. Giving up anything substantial for Kap would appear risky and the NFL owners et. al. are not likely to jump for a guy who was demoted from one of the worst teams in football.

Well said. Kaep needs to catchup to the game mentally. He must put in the study to improve, that's on him whether with new team/coach or not.

He also lost his confidence this year due to the Cards game. He has to get it back. Gabbert said it clearly. You must have confidence in your abilities going into the game. I'm sure he has experience in this being in Jax. Can't play timid like Kaep was doing.

Time is also a bit against Kaep. He can't take more than 2 years to improve and be 30 to give any sign of improvement. Not any team will be that patient.

Great, an injured thumb just bought us a 17 or whatever million dollar scrub back up QB. What will his salary be next year? Freaking ridiculous.

Love how the $ keeps rising depending on how mad the complainer is.

He was also injured. But I guess....that doesn't matter unless you're any other QB in the league. My question is, is the Colts board saying the same thing about Luck? Let me go check it out.

Have not seen a 9er QB take over a game like Kaep has since Young.

Kind of hard to be the QB when you can't run or jump. Oh and have a torn thumb ligament in your throwing hand prob makes it harder to pass, I'm no doctor doe. Oh and the pain form a torn shoulder muscle prob didn't feel good, again still not a doctor.

I think the 49ers should re evaluate their medical staff as well. Taking this long to find injuries in your highest paid player is troubling to say the least.

I think you're right on this as well regarding the medical staff. I am not in the slightest surprised though, given the issues we had in 2014 and this season on the OLine, that Kap is beat to s**t.

~55 sacks in 2014 (7 of which were on Kap according to PFF) and then 25+ this season behind an awful OLine and people are acting surprised that he's injured or accusing him of faking it. Yeah he was really struggling this year but it seems to be coming to light now that he was really banged up.

week 4 vs GB. Tore shoulder muscle in non throwing shoulder
week 7 vs Sea Tore thumb ligament in his throwing hand
week 8 vs Stl Bone bruise and cracked cartilage in his knee
then he was benched

funny how we are only finding out about the last two injuries after the season?

He looked like complete crap at times never looking to the other side of the field. Looking very lost at times. Dude was prob just trying not to die out there behind that horrible OL.

I'm all for wanting to see him back healthy with a new coach who has a clue.

Hopefully Harbaugh calls Sean Peyton when they hire him to be the niners new HC and tells him to give Kap a real chance at coming back and not to trade him.

Snap, turn, throw.

He takes less steps backwards than a handoff.

*sacked* Safety

"jedediahyork:" Kaep sucks booo!!!!

Whether he made the play or not, it would not have changed your mind on Kaep one way or another so what's the point?

That play has less of a chance of being a sack than a handoff.
