Was listening to 680 this morning on my drive. Just heard that kaepernick went and got another "random" MRI and now may need to have surgery on his right thumb which will could cause him to fail his upcoming physical and cost the 49ers 12million because they planned to waive him after the physical.
The hosts of the show talked about how they believe it's a ploy by kaepernicks agent suggesting his agent has already reached out to multiple teams in hopes of a team wanting to pick him up, but no team is biting at all or interested in kap... Therefore they think this is just a way for his agent and kap to collect the money..

Number of other places where he would fit the system. Best choice would be Denver with the system there. That systems uses is built around a mobile quarterback with lots of rollouts. One of the reasons Payton Manning had trouble adjusting there and they ended up with a mixed system. Part of what Payton is good at and part of the coaches system.

Our team are the ones who reccomend surgery. Kaep isn't trying to do anything for the extra cash. He wants to play football, he is a QB so he's gonna be paid well anywhere he is. He'll Blaine Gabbert is getting 4 million from us. All these conspiracy theorist out there are hilarious. So what was his reasoning for signing the team friendly deal?

Or what about free agency? No ones allowed to talk to the free agents before free agency opens up yet the first day of free agency millions of players get signed. These dudes are all in contact with each other wether they are supposed to be or not
The teams can talk about trades all the time, so not surprising that trades happen as soon as they open.
An unrestricted free agent by definition can also hold discussions with teams. They, by definition, are unrestricted free agents because their contract has ended and they are no longer under contract so they are free to talk with who ever they want to. Same with undrafted free agents. No restrictions there.
It is restricted free agents and players under contract that cannot hold such discussions. Teams can hold discussions between themselves about restricted free agents and players under contract. Teams can also grant permission to another team for such discussions (this is done if the team wants to do a trade and the other team wants to renegotiate the contract to make sure that it will happen if the trade occurs)
By the way the penalty when such a discussion takes place is not against the player, it is instead against the team that conducts such discussions. As such teams do stay away from such discussions.
Well thankyou for help proving my point.

According to this article, Kap is scheduled to make 11.9 million in 2016. He can escalate that however, based on how he plays. That is a very reasonable salary for someone who has accomplished as much as he has.
Don't the Niners get a 3M credit on next years salary because he went on IR?

I swear just a bunch of delusional conclusions to justify hate for the guy... be it as a QB or a person.
Those guys your talking about having "delusional hate" for kaepernick used to suck kaepernicks jock strap on that radio show and bash alex smith when kap took over. So........
I was talking about fans here as well....making up s**t, to bash Kaepernick's character.
as far as KNBR... well all you have to do is listen to Ted Robinson and Kevin Lynch to see where their bias are. I understand Geep or Tomsula defending Gabbert's performances...because they don't want to throw him under the bus...just like they didn't do that (at least with the media) with Kaepernick.. it's just the PC thing to do.
but Robinson and Lynch having been making claims about Kaepernick since he was benched... I mean Robinson is suppose to be the play by play guy...but he shows his bias.
talks about stuff 4 years ago... that Alex got his job taken away from him (which can be argued and understandingly so, because of injury) but Ted goes on about how Kaepernick never had to fight for the Starting job.. that it was given to him....and that he didn't pick up on Alex's character of being a good teammate...because you didn't hear a peep from Alex all the way to that SuperBowl run. Said that Kaepernick should've held off on the injury. This is the play by play guy again... who also bashed Harbaugh yesterday because of the Tomsula firing...saying that Jim's sins left with the team held back Tomsula this year....lol.
first Kaepernick was fighting/competing for the Starting job AS SOON AS HE TOOK THAT FIRST SNAP.... he had to continue to play well or else it would be back to Alex....and he had to keep playing well.
that is the most legit way someone can fight for a starting role... Live bullets.. this wasn't like in preseason where it can be easy to look good. These were important games for us to make the playoffs... RIGHT after we barely missed out on the SuperBowl the year before. There was ALOT of pressure...and not just to make the playoffs..but to win in the playoffs.
So to say that he never had to fight for anything? That is just a lazy, unprofessional, disrespectful attempt to diminish all the hard work Kaepernick actually put in. And it is mainly unprofessional because Ted should be held to a higher standard. 9er fans are the ones who listen and rely on him to give them facts and info about the team. To use that podium to make some b******t personal opinion is disrespectful and unprofessional.
then questioning Kaepernick regarding the injury when the team's OWN medical staff said whoops.. actually it is worse than they expected and he should get surgery. I mean Ted Robinson doesn't even mention this s**t... he is the play by play guy, yet he lets his bias show too easy. To be honest, the way he went about his words yesterday, I wouldn't be surprised if he is out of the job next year.....just a hunch on my part.
and before some might think I'm just hating on the guy... I LOVED listening to him as a kid (SF GIANTS pbp), and was sad when he went to the Mets I believe.
I was actually going to call in to KNBR to call him out....still might.

In all fairness to a few of your points on them being Biased. I haven't listened to them in well over a year, But during the whole Kap taking over and during our runs with him, they seemed head over heels over Kap doing the things we always needed Smith to do but he wouldn't. So since I had to drive back from LA today, I had 5 hours to kill, so I can only comment on what I had heard back then, and what I heard all this morning and early afternoon. And to me its like night and day in the change..
And its funny as hell, because I came VERY close to calling KNBR as well with some of the stuff they were saying because it was making no sense.
I didnt like how they were talking of Keeping only Gabbert as a "stop gap" and NOT drafting a QB next year. I could understand keeping Gabbert at 2million as opposed to Kaepernick's 12million or whatever it is and using Gab as a stop gap for whatever QB we get next year, but to Not draft a QB all together and use him as our stop gap is mind-boggling.
They all seem to think that trading the pick down, and then building a team, (and this is what I started taking from it) around gabbert, because hes "serviceable". So to me it seems like they want to build a "complete" team, and THEN draft a Quarterback when we are done "using up" Gabbert it sounds like? Makes zero sense to me. So they are pretty much telling us to be "Bad enough" to suck and never sniff playoffs, but be "good enough" to not get top 5 picks year in year out to really lower the bust chance on finding a star player at a low cost, or finding a QB.
Like if we built a complete team around Gabbert, like it sounded to me they suggested because hes just good enough to make us look respectable, we arent trying to win superbowls then. In other words, I guess I should just stop watching 49er football for the next 2-3 years while they build this "complete" team. Then once we have this "complete" team, and backup Quarterback starting, we are then going to "hope" we are drafting low enough to pick up a QB? like WTF? In other words, if we get this "complete" team, we then have to wait another two years for our "rookie" qb to develop enough to actual contest in a big game like the superbowl, So therefore we just wasted two years of our "complete" team they want to build because we didnt want to draft the Quarterback first. It literraly reminds me of throwing a bunch of ingredients onto a piece of meat, but having no idea how the meat is going to look or taste because you have NO IDEA what meat you have, and I am referring to the quarterback as the meat, and the "complete team" around him as the ingredients.
The reason I am going into such detail about this is because whatever "Credible" source they had on their show a few minutes to an hour ago said that this was a SERIOUS option that Baalke/York are considering.

So many wzoners were willing for years to give A.Smith a break due to injuries but non to an injured Kap. I wonder why that is?

I think everyone learned their lesson on Alex Smith. He got so much le-way IMO because he was a Round 1, Number 1 overall pick. And in his first 4 full years he played 2 full seasons in terms of games. Its like the exact same situation that happened with Bradford. 1st overall pick, Injury prone like Alex was his first years, Also was putting up just average TD/INT ratios and his yards never broke 4k, Yet the Eagles still gave them a 2nd round pick for him. When your 1 (1) in a draft, you command a little more patience than someone picked late in the 2nd round thats just how it is...
I personally dont hate on the guy Smith because of what him and Reid are now doing in KC.
3 years being in KC and theyve hit the playoffs twice, and came VERY close to 3 out of 3. Yet we are going in the opposite direction... I commend the dude, Respect him for the adversity he went through here, I didnt think he was going to do whats hes doing in KC but he is.
The same would go for Kap, if he somehow makes it on another team, and they make the playoffs his first year on that team, and the playoffs again the year after or next, I would HAVE to tip my hat off to him, because he would prove us wrong like whatsup, I made the playoffs on a different team without you all. You have to respect people who do things like that. If you dont then your just blindly hating the person lol

Alex had his shoulder shredded. He also had a different coach every year. Kap has been in the same system pretty much the whole time and we've had to simplify it.
With Alex it was was could he do? With Kap it's become what can he do? A new system that's going to be most likely complex needs quick reactions. I'm not sure if he can do that. His salary jumps to 19 mill in 2017. He either proves it this year or he will be a cap causality.
