2013 Packers rushed 4
2015 Packers rushed 6. TE open down the seam with free release.
Gotta make them pay occasionally for blitzing you, Kaep.
see this is what cracks me up about when some judge GIFs... you really believe the TE is open on this play.... realistically open for when Kap can attempt to make the throw.. The moment before he is sacked... see where the TE is at. If Vance was the first read, then yes an anticipated throw shoud've been expected out of the QB.
never mind that it is 1st down, and the first read is most likely to the flats. If the Oline could've just picked up Clay running right up the middle, I'm sure Kap could've made the throw when he saw his first read was gone.
You knock Kap for this play, but I tell you if this happened to Gabbert I wouldn't blame him for s**t on this... especially it being first down and the first read being the flats.
I've seen of Gabbert enough to know at least he would have had an idea of the blitzing and tried to throw it to the TE before the first rusher got to him. Kaep had no idea. That's the difference between the 2 right now.
What are you talking about? Gabbert always looks for the quick pass, be it to the flats or the underneath...and if he did do that on this play, like Kap, he would've been clobbered.
You say you have seen enough out of Gabbert... he hasn't played a full season, and his previous impressions weren't any good.
and if what you believe in Gabbert is true, he would be playing MUCH better than he has recently.
Kaep went fetal on that 2015 play.
Gabbert now has Blake Bell, Boldin, and Draughn.... actually no Draughn. He had McD back in the last game. Gabbert beat the blitz with a nice throw to McD. Except he tipped it for the 1st INT.
Cmon man there isn't s**t open on that 2015 gif until he's on his way down.

To be fair, Montana was not the king of checkdowns, he was the king of short yard passes, which is different in my mind. A check down, by definition, is a last resort play in an attempt to get positive yards or avoid a sack. That's Gabbert's M.O. A short pass is not a check down as in it might be part of the first, second or third read. Also, Montana threw short designed plays that were set up so the WR/TE/FB had room to run after the catch. This was a Niner trademark for 20 years. What Gabbert is doing is nothing like the WCO, imo. And just because its a short pass, doesn't mean is a good WCO design.
Side Note: I don't think Kap is use to checking down, because for most of his career he could generate two or three yards with one or two steps once out of the pocket. He probably feel just as confident with the ball in his hand and run as he would passing it to Draughn at the line of scrimmage. I'm just guessing, but I think that's a very plausible scenario.
Why are you putting the second bolded part on Gabbert? Gabbert doesn't draw up or call the plays.
The first bolded -- of course it's his M.O. Otherwise he gets sacked and we take a loss.

No, the TE was open. Kaep has to see and stand there to throw. He was sacked when he didn't recognized what he was seeing at the line before the snap.

Who has been the Ultimate Kirk Cousin's Fan here lately? was it Bob? I forget.
But Cousins just had the Ultimate Brain Fart.
it happens. shaking my head but QBs do some weird as s**t every once in a while.
there was less pressure there for Kirk, than Kap missing Smith. That was bad.
edit- and before the usuals come out and think I'm bashing the guy, before that moment he was playing great and ended the game great.
the post was more about how QBs do some weird as s**t every now and then. It's a very stressful position. Good QBs do not grow on trees...the NFL does not have enough good QBs to beat NFL defenses on a consistent basis..play after play. I don't know if there will ever be many good QBs playing well in the same season again... NFL is so desperate for QBs to overcome defenses that they've constantly tried to make the position easier for them.

I know Kap looked terrible at times but I can't still can't believe he was fully benched before Devey.

When is the title of this thread going to be changed to, "Look how many fans are embarrassed they actually thought Kaepernick was a good QB thread"?

Cousins has a head coach that has simplified the offense for him. The offense is built to his strengths. Gruden has a hard on for him and it's clear to see. Was discussing that on another board. Life is a lot easier when your head coach is doing everything for you to succeed. It's also quite easy to do it against some of the weaker defenses in the league.

Should be changed to "9er fans are wildly delusional"
