lol No one mentioned the 2TDs to Vernon in the Giants game. Kyle Williams pissed it away.

And he had every chance to make it 20. And failed.

Beyond those he has never struck me as being anything special.
Couldn't read a defense and almost won a Super Bowl. The next year got to the NFC Championship game and nearly beat the SB champs. Yea, did all that not being able to read defenses.![]()
How the f**k does Alex Smith continually get brought up? Is this what it's about? To use your word...this is getting tiresome. The guy never had a chance in the minds of some people who are still trying to get over the loss of the previous QB.
Before this year and maybe last we didn't need Kap to be anything special to get what we needed.
Now we'd need a Tom Brady to break .500 with this roster. Scary how far we've fallen.

was alex at fault yes he was he didnt close out the game but most of the blame is on ST
i mean i see the threads here everyone here is blaming OL WR OC or its harbaughs fault
i mean its everyone fault but kaepernick
we have a game where they are 2 ST fumbles that leads to the short yard drive that literally
a) give giants the TD that tie the game up
b) give giants winning FG in OT
and the fault is alex's? i mean are you kidding me?

Kaep being on the bench frustrate everyone. Seems like a good time to beat a dead horse from 3 years ago

I was really looking for a big game winning drive from our QB. He couldn't even produce a first down, very disappointing.

I was a big defender of AS, and really tried to give him the benefit of the doubt for that game.
But over time I don't think we can absolve him for losing that game.
Giants' fans would arrogantly say "He made TWO throws to Vernon Davis, that's it!"......and it's hard to argue at this point about that.
Looking back on the entire Harbaugh era with this garbage 2015 season halfway through, the worst fears finally came out big time:
We were hella fortunate to have things go our way back then, offensively speaking.
That 2011 NFCC could have been easily been a 20-3 loss like our last two Seahawk home losses. Take those two VD TDs and tell me how much better our offense did against the Giants than some of the games this year?
If Fangio didn't discover a magic bullet sick as s*** pass rush in the 2nd half, is Kyle Williams even ever in the discussion being down two TDs or so? Manning was moving the ball on us with Cruz having a 100 yard game in the first freaking half.
Had we had our 2012 CK in the 2011 NFCC, we would have easily beat those fools, maybe crushed them.
But even the 2012 season, when we went to St Louis with CK, I saw THEN what this offense would look like if our running game was completely stymied. Luckily our own defense kept it close and Kap made a nice long run and maybe a decent throw or two. But it was apparent then that CK had a long way to go as a rhythm QB. I'm not sure we've ever seen it quite frankly.
We just see big time playmaking and average/poor plays.
AS developed into a nice rhythm QB in 2013 under Reid.....best I've ever seen him in his career but still couldn't make the deep throws. Towards the end of that season it changed, and that Indy playoff game you saw the outlier of AS as a top QB. He was elite for that one game, no doubt about it.
Unfortunately we just didn't have what it took QB/offense wise. The 2011-2013 49er defense as was good or better than any SB winning team going back to the 2000 Ravens -- only the 2006 Bears, 2008 Steelers, and 2013 Seahawks compare or maybe better.....maybe even 2012 Ravens.
Having a top 3 NFL defense with an average offense puts you in playoff contention every year. A top 15 offense puts you in SB contention.
Most other teams need sick offenses to win SB.

Also forgot about the 2013 Seahawk loss in NFCC. Kap did some good things, but without the long run and one decent drive with the crazy throw to Boldin, that's another 23-3 type loss to them.

I absolutely cannot wait until Sunday. I don't think Gabbert will play lights out,but he doesn't have to. If he moves the chains and we score, behind the same oline,we can stick a fork in this. Problem is he won't have Carlos Hyde to take any pressure off of him.

As I write all of this I note that Russell Wilson is extremely fortunate he's had a more consistent defense and running game than our QBs have had. He too fails to be a rhythm QB, misses open receivers, and would be dead in the water completely without his ability to be a Tarkenton 2.0 out there.

So Alex gets to use the "it was the special teams fault" excuse but Colin doesn't? Eveyertime anyone tries to bring it up, everyone wants to point to the fades to crabtree.

Not talking about you two, but if his fanboys keep bringing him up, he will continue to be talked about
