Alex can rack up all the checkdown stats he wants, it never has, and never will get him anywhere.

Oh yea and his playing awesome vs indy game, and coming close in nfcc is just a polite way of saying he lost when the games counted most.

Im a big alex smith critic, but if you are gonna be a critic too at least be unbiased, Im pretty sure he won a game against NO, that was just like that Indy game. Cant even blame Alex for that game vs Indy, I think the KC offense scored on every possession they acquired except one vs Indy.. You should never lose a game like that.

That being said, Your talking about alex smith's checkdown etc and high %comp % because of the scheme we were running, I agree 100% with you, But if you agree with what you are typing, then you have to agree kaepernick was thrown into the same system. Inherited a 13-3 team, Alrdy superbowl bound, had a scheme of high completions, lost of short passes etc. The biggest change between Kap and smith was simple. Kap could run and buy time more with his legs, and he would take more shots down field and be more aggresive with the ball. but besides those two things, him and alex smith actually played a pretty identical game. Even with there legs. The only difference was Kap was a deep threat QB, where as alex smith wasnt and isnt. But that being said, Both QB's are bad now, One cant read defenses, the other reads them and just either A. doesnt exploit them, or B. secretly cant read them either and has everyone fooled... BOTH were a product of a great defense/run game and amazing coaching. They both put up there career years under harbaugh and behind an elite football team.. I refer back to lately Mark Sanchez, Appeared in back to back AFC championship games, Was a AFC candidate one of those years, and also was being hailed as a future elite QB, yet now hes a back up QB that no team will bring in for him to be the starter, even though hes put up more yards and TD's than either Alex or kap has in a full season. Why? Because he rode his NYJ defense and run game just like alex smith and Colin Kap did. Period, end of story, its a short one.

f you read your post above this one, I'd say it takes the cake. Not surprised, Kaep's biggest detractors ore his interview apart and once again made it personal. It's amazing how a person can hate someone they don't even know.

I was a Kap supporter until this season. So good try.

Kap played himself out of a roster spot, and he is close to talking himself out of any respect he once had from fans or the media.

Kap has gotten terrible,I keep hearing some media sayingthat the 9ers need to let Kap play His style of football and not try to make Him a pocket passer,ok fine, but here is the problem with that, the league has figured that style of His OUT,and like Harbs the last 2 years,Kap too has no answers,He has no fall back plan.

Sure, that's why the Vikes game to open the season looked so bad; f**kin right. He played his game that the f**king stupid coaching staff designed; moving pockets, rollouts, slants all those things. Right because Kap can't play football..

Or according to whiny know nothings like Jed/Paraag/Baalke that were butt hurt because Harbaugh was getting too much credit. See from your name, you obviously got some agenda to continue spreading the b******t rumors. I bet you everyone of those players that care about winning wishes Harbaugh was here and the other stooges were gone.

All these agendas. There's a bunch of people who don't like Kaep. Can't even give a legit reason why. It goes beyond his play. It's personal.

Spot on bro, for a newbie purty good! Plus now you've got a ton of new "members" wanking away throwing personal insults out, etc. I try to stay out of the fray. If I was Kap and saw some of this BS posing as erudite thoughts I'd drop in leave an address and say to these suckers come on down and we'll discusses this face to face, and if you bring friends I'll have my posse there and your fiends will go back to holes they live in.. Freakin bunch of cowards, but hey the internet is great aint it..

Good, get the f**k out of the organization then, Dude has no one to blame but himself.

Simple question, does Aarron Rodgers, Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning, Russell Wilson, Drew Brees, or even any scrub QB find and hit an open Torrey Smith?

Kap just doesn't have the mental capability to be a franchise QB. No matter what coaching staff gets him, they can't teach him to find open receivers, they can't teach him to stop holding the ball way too long and they can't teach him to have on the field leadership and presence.

Now if you need a guy to come in 5-8 times a game and run a few gimmick plays, then sure.

So it was Elways fault his teams couldn't get it done early in his career? Not saying Kap can turn this around, but you're making an idiots argument. Kap was the only reason we had a chance in our playoff losses and you can't deny that.

Our defense (2012) and Gore (2013) are what didn't show up when it counted most. All we needed was a mediocre performance from our Defense and we have a SB. They didn't get it done.

If all of you think Alex did enough to win the 2011 nfcc while our defense/st held Giants to 17 in regulation, you can't turn around and say Kap failed when he doubled Alex's production in the SB and our defense/st gave up 34 in regulation. Why does it pain you guys so much to know Colins more deserving of a SB than Alex?

Not sure why people alway have to knock a QB to praise another. Smith hasn't played in the SB so his production doubled would have been zero. But if you are looking at each QBs best game, either in the playoffs or in 2012 Smith wins the passing nod.

Kaepernick's best playoff game--302 yards passing, Smith's best playoff game 299 (SF) and 378 (KC) yards passing.

In 2012 Kaepernick's best passing game--302, Smith's 303.

Kaepernick's game in GB was one of the great games in football history...adding passing and running.

It's not rocket science to see why kap has been getting worse every season. He's been figured out and he has done nothing to evolve his game.
Alex>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Kaep and its not even close
Kap sounds like he's had enough of this abortion. He's talented enough to start and win games in the NFL, but he can't carry an offense. Very few players in he NFL can do that. He's certainly not one of those elite players.

It's almost shocking that a Jeep Chryst offense and a Mangini defense isn't lighting up the NFL... not really. This was doomed from the start. The Vikings game was just a false hope and an outlier.

I hate to point the finger at Kap because the problems go so far beyond his position. He knows he's been playing poorly though. His comments are going to further drive a wedge between him and Tomsula and his chances of getting his job back aren't helped by saying he isn't out of breathe and doesn't understand Tomsula.

In my mind, this is now official that we are searching for a new QB. Kaepernick is certainly done in SF. What a trainwreck this organization has become. It all comes down to the coaching staff. Great coaches can produce wins with any roster. Tomsula and his Bad News Bears staff are just laughable. They're so under qualified it's like York and Baalke purposely assembled these yahoos in an attempt of getting the top pick in the draft and starting over.

Both are marginal starters in the league and have very different styles. This comparison will never go away. Kap did well enough to take his job though, so the legendary Harbaugh disagrees with you.
Watch Tomsula come out with an entirely new Oline to try and give Garbbert the best chance to win. This jacksss has no problem throwin CK under the bus but letting everyone else slide. They talk about the young guys earning it in practice, did Gabbert earn it?

A team full of Rats, leaks an backstabbers
I just don't think Kap get's "it". His comments in the article about his benching speak volumes to me. For all the stuff where there is an obvious "right" answer about supporting his teammates, the organization, etc.., he gives that rote answer, but it sounds like BS. Just what he knows he is supposed to say.

For the one thing where there isn't an obvious scripted answer, his response to being benched (to have a chance to "breathe") is "I'm not out of breath".

He is either being factitious, and showing his true frustration in a snarky and childish way, or he REALLY doesn't get it. And if given his and especially his team's poor play, which is likely to be worse with the all the injuries and backups playing this week, he doesn't get that the coaching staff knows he's shell shocked by the team crumbling around him, by the criticism, by the demands of trying to overcome the loss of talent and that with a team of scrubs playing one week before the bye, that he needs a breather and a chance to step back, reflect and maybe, just maybe, have a chance to gather himself and his team if there is any hope of rebounding, then there really is no hope of rebounding because he LITERALLY doesn't get it.

He's in an impossible situation. Much of what is happening isn't on him, regardless of how good he is or isn't. But if he can't see why the coaching staff would do this and use it as an opportunity to try and regroup and recover from such a disastrous start, (for him and the team), then they are triple correct in taking this action because he doesn't have his s**t together between the ears enough to handle this on his own and someone had to step in and force him to step aside so that maybe he can see the forest for the trees and have chance to turn things around.
