I don't understand how the media is ripping for the 49ers for benching Colin.

I'm not sure Blaine gives the 49ers a better chance of winning, but Colin was losing the locker room, there was a damn near mutiny. They had to do something.

Where are you getting your data? Maybe I'm misreading your posts but according to ESPN the top two QBs in number of runs are Wilson (58 runs) and Newton (64 runs). Kaepernick is third (45 runs). Alex Smith is fourth (36) and Aaron Rodgers fifth (31) and he has the best yards per run average with 6.2.

but the point i was trying to make is that newton and wilson still have the ability to read the field and make a pass as a primary weapon where kap is his running ability

No problem! I am somewhat surprised by the data because the guy with the least yards per carry is Newton. Thought he'd have a better average. Rodgers having the best makes sense as he doesn't run unless the D is giving him a lot of space.

Wilson is so similar to Tarkenton at times...runs around behind the LOS for ever...and then sets his feet and finds a receiver wide open 40 yards down the field.

The niners have had a target on their back, even when we were winning

Agreed. No matter what the 49ers do, they will get ripped...especially while we are down in the dumps

Exactly. Kap forced their hand. They had no other choice. They waited longer than they should have.

Unfortunately, I agree . We need to kill it in the offseason and we certainly have the ammo to do so. We can turn this around quickly
Is it possible that his teammates no longer wanted to play for him? And they were just giving up on plays?

People talk about giving up on plays a lot, but think about it. Everything is on film. Does any player want to be sitting in front of a GM or a coach explaining why he didn't give 100% on a given play?

I just don't think the vast majority of pros' minds don't think like that. I think they give everything they have on almost every play and that's part of why they are pros.
