It's not about 'smart' or intelligence and it's not about the amount of study. It's about presence of mind on the field in the middle of action.

There we have it, the worst O-line in the league actually belongs to the Seattle Seahawks (and not the 9ers like some people will have you believe here) and yet at the very least when compared to the 9ers, Russell Wilson is so much better than Krapnpick. No more Krapexcuses.

The groans about wilson have begun and will continue as they lose more games.

He isn't a great pocket passer either and makes plays on scramble drilles. He's supported by the best rb in the game and a too tier defense also. And he has actual coaches. And he still looks below average.

You know it isn't that simple. He is basically on auto-pilot right now. Just do what they tell me. Dude really should go to a psychiatrist. Get his head right. In the end he may just not be good enough to handle everything that goes with being an NFL QB. But I believe he will get one more shot this year and he better make something of it.

Or he is just stupid.

Why do people keep saying this? Empirical data shows that this is obviously not his problem. His problem is psychological and that's actually worse than a problem with being stupid.

Kap just is just playing terribly. Few have the luxury of playing behind a line that gives them all day. Look at the Seahawks.....Russell Wilson still finds a way to move them, with the worst OL in the league, and a recieving corp that is average at best.

Outsiders rank the 9ers OL as 32 in run blocking and 30th in pass protection. 11/3/2015

Is still not worse than the Seahawks especially when it comes to pass protection which is the point of contention here as so many of you have been blaming Kap's bad play on the total lack of protection. That line isn't perfect, but is no way as bad as Seattle's line and yet Russell Wilson does so much better than Kap under the circumstances.

At some point Kaepernick has become brain locked and pressure over time can do that to anyone. Benching him may help him see the game with better perspective. I believe it was YA Tittle who once hit his cener in the middle of his back with a pass. He could barely see at that point of the game, having been hit and having no help from his team mates. Just stopped functioning like a QB.

I am most anxious to see how CK reacts. If he is mad but focused on observing his team mates will notice. If he sulks...his team mates will notice. If he doens't care? His team mates will notice. This is a very important time in his career and it's very hard to fake what you really feel in these situations.

His whole persona is transforming this year and I have no idea how sincere it is. I hope he is maturing and not just putting in the motions because someone told him to do so.

Is Wilsons game not built for a bad line? He's probably the greatest scrambler of alltime. Should we expect Kap to get away from pressure the way Wilson does?

No, being rated at #32 out of 32 teams actually IS worse than the Seahawks. That's just arithmetic.
Everyone wants to shift blame to the OLine for Kaepernicks poor performance, yes the line isn't very good, especially on the right side. But any quarterback who holds the football too long the way he does will make an OLine look bad.

I agree that his main problem is psychological, but this is a huge problem, and not one that is guaranteed to go away with a benching. Kap might respond to this benching by coming back with a clear psyche, or he can have it completely destroy any shred of confidence he might have left.

I'm very worried that the latter will happen. The reason I think this is because I see no one on this coaching staff that is able to build him up. Kap comes off as an insecure guy putting up a a false, strong front. No evidence of this, just how I personally perceive him. One thing I thought Harbaugh did well was build up a player's confidence. And there's no better feeling than having the head coach believe in you, even after a poor performance. When there were obvious holes in the QB's game, Harbaugh showed absolute faith in his QB with unwavering support. I simply don't believe in Geep/Logan/Tomsula's ability to do this - build up a QB. Kap needs a huge pep talk from a qualified authoritative figure and I don't see that coming from anyone on the team/staff.

If Kap responds to this benching in a positive way, I will give all the credit to himself. I really hope we see a better Kap after this Gabbert experiment, but I think he's going to have to clear his head on his own.

Would you please find where I said this and show it to me? Always dangerous to throw any support of an idea into the same pot.
