Kaep benefited from a decent Oline in years past to mask his slow read. He might thought he would be ok with his improvement rate. He doesn't have that buffer this year. He has to accelerate his read, but of course he can't, not this quickly. So he has been figured out and somewhat exposed.

A Trent Dilfer type carried by his defense isn't getting a ring in the current NFL.

More disingenuous posting. Can you be honest for once?
Those are all facts except for the Trent Dilfer statement, that one is an educated guess. Where is the dishonesty? Why do the Kap homers accuse people of lying who speak the truth?

Too bad you were too busy hating to be along for the ride. The run he had wins a SB 95% of the time. While guys like Dilfer, Roethlisberger (05), Manning, Wilson have all won without having half the playoff run, or half the game he had in the SB.

I guess i just don't resent him the way you guys do. The dudes toast, but i don't see the need to kick the guy while he's down and diminish his accomplishments. He played big for us and deserves a ring. QBs have one for doing much less.

Isn't that the way it always is in Niner world? People still were still hating on Smith even after he came through. Just the slightest adjustment here and there and the Niners would have a 6th ring thanks to a seriously good, MVP-worthy performance by Kaepernick in the Super Bowl. He performed better than 60 to 70% of the starting QB's in SB history and he still lost. If Fangio gets his head out of his ass and starts blitzing Flacco; if the refs call that holding on the kick return; if Harbaugh doesn't call that time out; if the Smiths aren't hurting; if Culliver doesn't have the worst game of his life; if James doesn't fumble a good drive away; and yes, if Kaepernick can just hit that fade....

Lots of ifs and lots of little details, any one of which could have completely changed the history of the Kaepernick years.

My guess would be, it's a bit better because they don't play against him 2 times a year like other teams in the West.

Yes, and another reason would be that the NFC West is by far the best defensive division in the NFL and has been for a few years now.
Name that QB: I have 7 starts 1800 yards, 13TDs 13picks, 58% completion and one win. Im playing a an offense tailor made for my strengths and led by my college OC.

Name that QB: I have 8 starts 1900 yards, 7TDs 5picks, 59% completion and two wins. Im playing for a first year coach and new offense.

have a good day guys!
To piggyback off of Mark Purdy's column on the WZ front page (http://www.mercurynews.com/mark-purdy/ci_29067445/purdy-kaepernick-will-be-back), he was also on the radio last night (95.7). I haven't read his columns for a while, but he's always come across as fairly balanced and tends to take things tongue in cheek.

Some takeaways:
- He was clear in noting that he isn't as close to the action nowadays, so everything is just his opinion.
- He expected them to fight for .500 like last year, though he didn't expect it to be this bad.
- He thinks they did try to give Kaepernick some new toys in T. Smith and R. Bush.
- He thinks that the position just "got too big" for Kaepernick. I guess his article breaks down the thought more.
- He implied that most other media people think Jed is solid with Baalke going forward. His opinion is that Jed would probably be considering the possibility of replacing Baalke.
- He related a story where he was at 49ers HQ for some team event in 2000. Terry Donahue was next to him and told him something to the effect of "Hmm. Steve Mariucci seems awfully close to the York family. I wonder why?" Purdy's internal thought was, "Well, he's a pretty nice and friendly guy." Then over the next few years, Donahue internally seized power from Mariucci. He pointed out that the 49ers, even back to Eddie D, have always had a lot of drama aired out.
- To him, it seemed that the Raiders' HQ was always quiet, probably because Al made all the decisions. Though, he said it's still been fairly quiet under Mark Davis. He just figured that some workplaces, football or non-football, are just chattier and gossipy than others. But all have their skeletons and drama.

I have said it before, everyone realizes Kap will start for us again this year right?

Yet, those defenses still giving up plays to be had. Kaep just can't take what the defenses been given. There were a handful of big plays against the Rams defense had Kaep got his head out of his ass.

What both of them did in 2012 have no bearing on 2015 and forward. Both of them needed to improve their weaknesses and develop new skills, neither did so they both have ended up on the bench. In RG3 defense he did collect some injuries but that just hastened the demise that was coming anyway.

Talk about defenses figuring out weaknesses all you want, but even you admit you don't know what adjustments defenses made. You're pushing a narrative you can't even see lol. You might as well argue big foot is real.

Kaps problem is his slow reads are being exposed by a bad Oline, and he's lost all confidence to make throws he used to make regularly. Not because defenses figured everything out, the throws are still there, he's just scared to make them.

He was just horrible in that game. I think he presses when he faces these real good defenses that know his tendencies. In the past, he seems to have had a lot easier time seeing the field when he wasn't under such constant pressure. I don't mean this as an excuse - a franchise QB must still perform under heavy defensive pressure. I just think that the NFC West has been hard on QB's for the last few years.

You guarantee that, eh?

Come on, people. He's been playing terribly, but let's not go around the bend on this. Anyone who doesn't think he's been working at it hasn't been paying too much attention.
