I think he will too, but I don't think we get the same mount of picks and value we got for Alex Smith. Alex's value was at an all time high. Kap's value is at an all time low and teams know if he isn't in our plans that we are on the hook for $12 million next year unless we cut him.

True but many NFL pundits always down graded Smith, while Kaepernick is shiny and exciting.

I agree. I don't see the value here. The tea leaves are pointing towards getting cut in the offseason and CK resigning but only in a backup QB role. The damage has been done. There's an outside chance that he could land in Buffalo but that would be after being cut and he'd definitely have to restructure.

Colin had his shot. At the end of the day there are too many weaknesses to overcome. He'll be lumped in with guys like Ryan Fitzpatrick, Brian Hoyer, Ryan Mallett etc.

Totally disagree did Fitz,Hoyer,Mallett go to the NFC championship twice and a SB? That goes a long way in the NFL.

He has a team friendly deal which doesn't leave a team with a long commitment and if he does get released then those teams that might want him will have to fight for his rights in FA.
Not when you are 2 to 3 years removed and have regressed to playing the worse football of your career.
Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl then was let go by the Ravens and signed as a back-up in Seattle the following season, he had a 5-1 play-off record.
Dan Fouts won only 50% of his games and was 3-4 in the play-offs including 0-2 in AFC Championship games. By Kaeprnick homer logic Dilfer would be considered better than Fouts.

Happy birthday, Kap! By the way, YOU'RE FIRED!

Haha. I liked that good one! I think, Kap learning the lesson because 49ers fans are not dumb and not stupid. Kap should not give the team for wins game like Carolina Panthers at 2013 on November. He was buddy with Cam.. Kap was joke his pretend playing struggle when he gave to Cam for won game. .. Kap must understand and not playing game for 49ers period! I wanted Kap must wins and Championship for 49ers then i will satisfy for kap and stay with us many years for sure.

I don't think we trade Kap unless Gabbert kills it. I don't see that happening.

Lol you think he was worth 2 second rd picks!?? It's all about what a team will give and if they think they can coach that player.

QB is the hardest postion to get right and if you can find a player that's played in a SB and has won playoff games you go after him.

I still think we will see Kap start in a game this year and I wouldn't be surprised if he remains with the team...that said this team is going nowhere with this current coaching staff.

Dilfer threw for 1,500 yards that year and he literally had zero to do with winning the SB...like I said some team will find value in Kap and will offer a trade higher then you'd think.

if we dont trade Kaep, how the heck are we gonna start over again?

do you actually think that he's gonna take us to the Super Bowl again if we happen to land the whole Cowboy's OL in package??

Another source stated the person who leaks the information is not Jed York, but Paraag Marathe. Apparently, Marathe was the main person responsible for the leaks regarding Jim Harbaugh last year and it seems likely he is partially responsible for the Kaepernick drama. Even if York did not leak the information himself, his office seemingly is involved in it. At the very least, York and the other execs cannot keep their feelings discreet. Or, the execs purposefully use it as a tool to gain public support of their decisions.
spot on imo

if true, he should be fired on the spot.

Just what exactly did he leaked out??

If they decide to move Kaepernick they should do what smart teams do...make a deal with CK to have some input into his new team if he signs a friendly trade contract. It would be a win/win/win. Kaepernick could name a number of teams he would like to play for, the teams on the list could be contacted to assess interest and could somewhat dictate the new contract to their cap needs, and the niners would get something before he had to be cut.

That would help the team rep with players as well. Making him sit through the FA period until April would be harsh.

He wasn't really statistically worse in 2013 or 2014...teams looking for a QB will look at SF's team as a whole as well and how they think they can make him better.

There are reports of teams already interested in him

Doesn't mean anything until you make a deal.

I think Jed is in shock mode..."What happened? I told everyone Tomsula could do as well and he isn't...what the f**k happened?"

And when people are embarrassed and trying to make up for being idiots they tend to make more mistakes. He should take a step back and let Baalke come up with a plan but he may have forced Baalke into these decisions so now will want to exclude him from saying "I told you so Jed!"

In that case he and Paraag will put all the names of every football exec and player into their computers and find a new football genius...like his Uncle did...is Joe Thomas still alive?

Thats cool that you know how to Lol and stuff. It doesn't mean anythin until a team actually offers us something that is comparable to what we got for Alex.

Doesn't say anything about 2nd round picks or multiple picks or any picks at all.
