Amazing how the same player who used to come back after a TO, and score a TD just a few yrs back...is now one of the worst QBs in the league.

This season is lost, best to experiment now than wait for a few more games. Trading and benching players will only work for a few weeks. In the end Jed/Baalke will have to answer for this circus.

He hasn't played with heart since the Cards game. Playing like he's on auto pilot. That's why he's benched. That's the thing that irks me the most about Kaep. He wilt under the mental pressure after the Cards game. Physical talent like a top 3 franchise qb, mental fortitude of a Mark Sanchez.

It's interesting that he seems like he gave up during and since the ARI game. Since Kap has been here, he hasn't been able to handle difficult situations well. He needs to figure out that aspect of play QB.

The way this offseason and regular season has gone is a direct indication of Ownership.

Most of you guys wanted Roman fired. How did that work out?

No coordinator will help his QB make throws to wide open receivers or stay in the pocket, not have happy feet and deliver the ball. What about scanning the field and going through progressions? Is that the coordinators fault.

Phoenix, what do you think, Is this it for Kap or do they just sit him for a couple games?

I think he's done. He has never shown the ability to be a consistent NFL level passer. I can see him going somewhere else and having a good season or two but he'll never be consistent enough.

In anycase, being here isnt good for him or good for the 49ers and you cant pay a guy $17 million to be absurdly inconsistent. Lots of teams have bad OLs, few QBs go into the fetal position like Kaepernick does.

Its time to move on.

Yeah, I don't understand the quick blame of the OC. Plays appear to be there and it is blatantly obvious that our QB is rattled. Changing the OC will not help the QB that's rattled. The OC has already tried to make it as simple as possible for Kap.

I'm still glad he's fired. Given the choice between a s**t sandwich or a s**t salad isn't much of a choice.

Besides, what offense do you believe can operate behind the current o-line?????

This isn't Mike Leach college football.....

And the bumbling Tomsula.

And Jed York

That's the scary part, is ok we are rebuilding and try to get excited for the new talent coming in but we don't have a front office. I wouldn't trust this coaching staff with next years draft. It's scary, we are in limbo. It's a nightmare right now.

I agree. Until he commits himself to building a solid base by working on his footwork fundamentals, he will always be inconsistent. Then there's his situational awareness among other things. Too many things to correct. Thanks Harbaugh!!

If anyone is to blame, I blame Harbaugh for not grinding proper fundamentals into this kid.

You never know, Gabbert wasnt picked that high for nothing, he didnt even get 2 full seasons as the starter. For a rookie to be tossed into the fray on a weak team its not unusual to fail the first couple seasons. Maybe sitting and watching and a year with harbaugh have helped him. At LEAST he can probably spot open receivers and deliver the ball if he's still upright..

I know right? It was Harbaugh who at least had him looking somewhat decent. I know he wasn't looking great, but he was also getting him transitioned last year! Just unbelievable that people still like THIS over what we had!

Have you seen what a QB who has now support looks like? Have you sen what a QB who gets destroyed by his line looks like? A QB that lost his biggest ally (Harbaugh) and had him replaced with a position coach and an OC who hasn't had a job in 15 years? QBs have the ability for the most part. What puts them over the top? Confidence. People underrate that so much here. QBs are not mindless drones you plug n play. How many QBs have we seen pass through here and wes still don't get it. Having a coach that supports you and can mold you and actually has the credibility to back it up is HUGE. Yorks have no clue wtf they're doing and it shows.

Forget about Kaep beign a bad QB. What got him to that point? We're going to draft a QB are we going to do the same s**t to develop him and then stand around 3 years from now and wonder why he sucks? The problem is at the top.

alot of people , both last year and this year are to blame for his downward spiral,,, and he has to look at himself in the mirror as well
