I don't think anyone is arguing in favor of continually starting Kap. When we talk about o line and coaching issues were not trying to make excuses for him. More so, just trying to say that if we don't get those issues fixed, it doesn't matter who's back there. We're gonna end up ruining another career.

Exactly

Well hopefully you are fixing those things while someone cheaper is teaching the future guy. That is the ideal. Do I have faith we will do that? absolutely not.

That's the real problem, I think most know where I stand with the front office. It starts from the top but since we know Jed isn't going anywhere all we can do is hope to get a new gm and coach.

That's what I want to know. I am hoping a deal gets done, then the team can have a fresh start whereby we can begin the rebuild and do without all the distractions.

And in 3-4 years you'll have a new GM and coach. Its what bad organizations do. Until they hire someone at the top that knows what it takes to win, it wont matter much.

10%
Benching Kap will not solve the problems. We need to start with firing Chryst.

No rush for Niners to push a trade though. They would very likely have more options in March after his agent has time to shop him.

I wish Harbaugh didn't get fired, what can I say? A few of us called it. Great coaches are rare and we drove one out of town. I'm numb at this point. I've been a big Keap supporter, now I don't know anymore. I'm just numb at this point.
Sad day for Kaep...playing with heart will only take you so far I suppose.
Amazing how the same player who used to come back after a TO, and score a TD just a few yrs back...is now one of the worst QBs in the league.

This season is lost, best to experiment now than wait for a few more games. Trading and benching players will only work for a few weeks. In the end Jed/Baalke will have to answer for this circus.
Kap to Dallas would be a nice fit for him. Talk about a night and day difference in OL. Would never happen, unless Romo was out for the year though. Kap would be awesome in Dallas, on that fast turf with an actual wall of great blockers. All the people hating on Kaepernick and trying to dump him for nothing will be the same ones crying later if he balls out with another team. No way this guy is done in this league. Just with this inept team. This could be the best thing that ever happens to him.

Still though, Kaep's off-target throws this year are 2nd worst in the NFL. Mix that with his inability to see the field, right now, and there's no way he can continue. He needs a step back to be able to clear his head, get out of the furnace for a little bit and learn to keep cool and relaxed on the field. Right now, he's no where close to being a cool, calm, collected QB and I don't think there's any playing through it.

I'm looking at the cause of that. No doubt Kaep is not playing well...but why? That's what I'm more concerned about. When you figure out why then you can figure out if it can be addressed or not. I personally think he is pressing because he is running for his life. Even with a clean pocket he's pressing. QBs getting hit constantly f**ks with their heads. If the Kaep right now playe din 2012 he would have never started when Smith was cleared to play. While I agree with you that he's not cool or calm...I don't think he gets to that point unless the line is improved and other changes are made on offense. So right now might as well just trade him. I don't see things improving right now. The single most dumbest decision was firing Harbaugh and then replacing him with JT. You put the franchise in the QB's hands, you go out and get a HC who is proven developing QB's. If he's not available you don't fire the previous coach. Too much dumb in this organization. Even the most vocal Kaep detractor has to admit that the organization completely goofed and did Kaep 0 favors. He didn't help his cause much but the org is lost.

Oh yes, agree 200% there.

I agree as well....since they had such a hard on to blow out Harbs, the only hire that really made sense last off season was Mike Shanahan. A real QB guru with 2 decades of results with QBs if all skill sets.

Nope though, trying to be smarter than the room we select a DL coach who won't have got a DC job unless we forced him on a guy. Totally f**ked all the way around.

He hasn't played with heart since the Cards game. Playing like he's on auto pilot. That's why he's benched. That's the thing that irks me the most about Kaep. He wilt under the mental pressure after the Cards game. Physical talent like a top 3 franchise qb, mental fortitude of a Mark Sanchez.

This isn't all Kaep. You can't fault a guy for not being one of the best QBs in the league. His play is more of a symptom than a cause. This line is the worst in the NFL, worse than last year. And we saw how that turned out.

Nobody has a chance to be successful on either side of the ball with the current O-line. The 49ers literally have to find FOUR starters via draft and FA in 2016.... Ozzie Newsome wouldn't be able to do that...

This is going to be a couple year process
