Who is more likely to unretire Patrick or Borland.

I'm sure if these guys could make a decision to come back, what about our guys? I know Patrick has more left in the tank and who knows about Borland. Someone like Borland, who puts out 110%, doesn't lose it after checking out the internet. The job market is not that great for someone a year out of school. Who knows?

I am giving Willis the benefit of the doubt that he quit by and large because of his injuries and to a lesser extent the fact that he is set for life. As to Borland he just up and quit. He gave up on the game and this was after he gave it everything he had for the one year he played for us. I think there is zero chance either of them returns but if there were one it might be Willis. If somehow he miraculously felt nearly 90% and he got the itch he could consider returning. Borland I seriously doubt he tries to come back and especially considering the why and the way he left the game. Even if he did return who would trust him? GM? HC? Teammates?

He played to big and can still leave a Hall Of Fame mark, he just needs time if there is a chance

i take willis at face value, he is one of those few great players that could make a good coach or something for us,, i would love to see him come back in some capacity down the road but i doubt he suits up again. now what if we get to the super bowl and , god forbid one of our linebackers or key pass rushers go down. we could do what we did with tim harris in 94,, and haley in 98,, call him up and see what he would say!!,,,, in regards to borland,, he means nothing to me and i never want him around niner headquarters. f**k him, he can go to on dancing with the stars and be a host for a msnbc program

if borland came back, i would hope the guys would tie him down in bed and beat him with bars of soap like they did in full metal jacket.

I can see Willis pulling a George Foreman and making a comeback at age 40 and making the pro bowl

I honestly think Willis won't come back. According to his interview, he has been playing through pain for a long time, and just finally had enough. He said he had mentioned it to people before, his pain and considering retirement, and nobody really took it seriously. So I think he really thought this through. He may regret it later in life, in hindsight, but I think he's made his decision and it won't change. Borland is just a b!t@h. Supposedly telling his family from the start he might only play one year, but not disclosing that to any team = scammer. Then going out and giving interviews for the attention, and to feel special for being a quitter. The best part - announcing he was "willingly" giving back most of his signing bonus (to keep from getting sued for it). That's like me saying I willingly pay taxes. Oh and he didn't do this for the money, and is only going to take what he earned...except that he made more money as a 3rd round pick than he would have as an undrafted FA...but he doesn't take that into account.

So weighing the options there, I'd say the most likely person to unretire would be....Jerry Rice! :)

Although I don't think he would, if I had to choose it'd be Willis. I don't even want Borland back. The way he handled his "retirement" was messed up.
