People are looking at our backups and acting like they are a sure thing that we will have 3 backups playing 10 games for the OL and we are doomed. Now if that happens then yes we are in big trouble but our starting OL will actually be above average if you ask me

Staley is an elite LT, now that he's older let's say for argument sake he's now just above average
Mcglinchey can become elite. Will he be in year 2? Maybe, I think there's a good chance he can make that Kittle like jump.
Tomlinson and Pearson are average
Richburg wasn't great last year but if he's starts fully healthy then he has the potential and he's shown he can be an above average C in this league.

I look at this and I'm excited about our OL, now like I said if we get 2-3 injuries earlier and we have a bunch of backups in then it's a diff story but that can be said about any team.
So if your grading our STARTING OL then I'm looking at an above average OL that has the potential to end up a top 10 OL

I wonder what Adam Snyder is up to? He'd be a huge up grade over our current guards and centers..

No, no he wouldn't. Those lines back then were great run blocking lines but typically sucked ass at pass blocking. Iupati was the best run blocking guard in football but was always a sketchy pass blocker. Goodwin was never a particularly good pass protector throughout his entire career. Every guy on those lines but Staley was a much better run blocker than pass protector.

Those lines were built for power and mashing people in the run game, not holding up in pass protection. They got away with it because they threw the football less than pretty much every other team in football but even on a low amount of pass attempts they were still giving up a lot of sacks.

A healthy Richburg alone would easily have been the second best pass blocker on those lines.

Pressure? Not really...I'm not the one who's running the team lol.

I've watched him play for yrs in NY, he's a damn good center who's dealt (and played through) some injuries. He's gonna be fine as long as he can stay healthy enough to play at the level he can.

End of the day love all you guys in here BUT I don't have anything to prove, if I'm right I'm right if I'm wrong I'm wrong...my life doesn't change too much either way regarding how he plays lol

I don't really see any standout guards that are free agents after this year, maybe Brandon Scherff? Anyone know if there's any intriguing prospects coming in this years draft?

Honestly, over the last 3 years, most have already been traded or picked off in FA right away and almost all have been locked up to LT deals. It doesn't surprise me the FA pool is weak next year.

my second year of being a niner fan , that year i wrote the niners telling them i was a fan. they sent me a color picture of the 72 team. two pencils and two stickers. guess that does not happen any more. i passed the picture onto my youngest daughter. she freaked when she saw steve spurrier in the front row. she never liked him as a college coach

Hey I know you guys are on the "other side" of this debate, but I have to say, this s**t wouldn't be engaging and interesting without you guys. Thanks for pushing the conversation. I know it seems like we aren't listening or hearing each other - at I am and it's appreciated.

I would include Hoov and Heroism here but you guys make fun of me too much. JK! - also appreciated.

Shut up GM you loser
I should have included a smiley but I'm sure you know I'm joking
