i would take 8 wins. i hope the team signs the tackle they have brought in. does not help our piss poor guards but would provided much needed depth

They're bringing in Jordan Mills for a visit. 16 game starter for the Bills last year.

Was he good?

OK? I mean if he was good he wouldn't be available. But he is solid swing tackle material.

huh? They drafted a OT top 10, spent $40M on the top center FA, brought in a former 1st rd pick at OG, and just gave an extension to probably our best LT in SF history.

If Richburg can stay healthy, and be the player he was in NY. Then with our C and 2 T's, our OL will be above average. We will just need our guards to be consistent. It all boils down to health.
keep an eye on staley. many good posters like crown feel he slipped last year and was iffy in pre season. we hope he can give us another quality year. pinning our entire hopes on IF with the center is scary but thats the way it is

Backup swing tackle with starter experience, he's not very good but it's about what you're gonna find at this pt.

sounds like he is at least respectable as a back up and we need that

Staley did have a brain fart with Jimmys first time back in the game, giving Chubb a free pass lane without being touched.

He's good enough to be our backup. Miami is in tank mode, they're not looking to field the best roster.

All that money and they still gave up 8 more sacks than the 49ers horrible, worst of all-time OL last year.

Mills is turrible. 49ers have brought him in for workouts in the past. I liked him at Louisiana Tech but he has been Gilliam level bad in the NFL. In a pinch I guess he can work as a swing tackle, just hope and pray that he doesn't have to go out on the field.

Agreed, and you can say that for every single team in the NFL regarding health

Exactly, this is the kind of guy you want to be your main backup. Not talented enough to be a starter but experienced so he can come in if you need him and play for (hopefully) short stretches and not get your QB killed. Basically Shon Coleman 2.0 and we wouldn't even have to trade a pick for him.

Honestly I think he's a little better than Coleman, he was a 3yr starter for the Bills.

When they had some of the worst OLs in football.

The 49ers kicked the tires on him before during the epic Jimsula era.

Oh I'm not saying he's good...he's got starting snaps (82 games worth) and can stay healthy for the most part. We're talking about backups at this pt.

So given the complete level of incompetence during that time, maybe he is worth a second look.
