This more like a carwash

Our entire team was like a fleet of cars that got totaled. This begins the third season, with about 60% of the fleet looking pretty solid now.

From the scouting reports noted just up the page and on the prior page, Brunskill has a very good skill set to be an OT in a outside zone system. His foot speed is ideal to defeat edge rushers.

Pope seems quite a ways behind Brunskill, note, he is on the PS while Brunskill is on the 53. Based on PT over the past two games, Brunskill looks like the swing at this point.

They have 3 1st rd picks on that starting OL & they spent $40M on a center who was also a 2nd rd pick.

In 2016...yes. Kyle replaced all but the steering wheel which is Joe Staley.

No, they actually didn't even put gas in the tank. Just let it sit in the front yard for a year and hoped it would start on day one with 1 axle that needs fixing and a worn down battery. They did find an old spare in the trunk and jack though and a spark plug still in the box.

Yup 3 former 1st rd picks and $40M at center (and a former 2nd rd pick).
This will probably be a middle of the pack oline. Some of you are making it seem like we have the worst oline in the league

Kind of wondering if Brunskill would be first off the bench to play OT. He played all five line positions in the preseason, and while I noticed him struggle with power at times, he seemed to hold his ground for the most part.

On a real note tho, I think we'll be fine as long as the center (whoever the F that is) commands the spot. If not, we are F***ED!!!!

Unless they pick up someone else, I would think yes. I wouldn't be comfortable with Skule at swing tackle.

Certainly closer to the middle of the pack than bottom of the league.

I expect Richburg to have a much better season, knowing he was playing with one leg the majority of last season.

This will help a lot. Todays Nfl, you can get away with having poor guards, but if your guards and center is bad, doesn't matter how great your tackles are.

I agree.

Per some people in this forum, guards sound like the most important position after QB, which I don't agree with.

Hopefully Skule will develop during the season and be capable enough towards the end of the season to spell either tackle ocassionally.

I think they have some nice young talent on the OLine and practice squad, that if Benton is the OLine coach that is 50% as talented as Alex Gibbs, he should be able to turn out a good line from these young guys in a year or two.

In the meantime, as long as starters stay reasonably healthy, this line will get better as the year goes on - just by the continued reps alone.
