The o-line will be fine, especially once Richburg and McGlinchey have the playbook down more. I'm concerned about RG but I feel like between Garnett, Cooper, Person and Magnuson one will be serviceable.

Early on in the season I do expect a lot of help on the right side of the line with TE's to chip block and Juszczyk in there in pass pro.

Unless the defense is blitzing, Kyle hates to keep additional blockers in for help. He wants all five route runners into their routes as soon as the ball is snapped. He didn't even help Beadles at RT last season and relied on the Jimmy to get rid of the ball. If he does keep a blocker in to help McG or the RG, then things are really really bad.

You're right about all that. Our run game will be so important, that's where McGlinchey is supposed to excel. Solid run game will lead to some effective play action and roll outs. Will help give Jimmy some time

I think outside zone left will be an important run to establish. Most OZ runs don't gain the edge anyway (not sure on that) as the RB cuts it up inside. The backside blocks - RG/RT - have to sustain their blocks to make OZ left succeed. If they can do that then the QB bootleg right will work much better.

Where McG has to be sufficient at is '3rd and pass it' where there is no playaction to slow down the pass rush. Be quick and alert enough to handle blitzes and stunts so at least there isn't a free rusher with a head of steam coming at Jimmy.
I haven't been feeling good about our OL. Either our defensive players are amazing or our OL is not up to par.

2. OG Jonathan Cooper. Hasn't returned to team drills yet, but participated in one on ones for the second day in a row and struggled. Got beat twice by Day and once by Solomon Thomas. But hey, at least he's somewhat healthy.

3. OG Joshua Garnett. Didn't practice even though Kyle Shanahan said Wednesday he would be surprised if Garnett didn't practice today. I'm not sure what's going on, but it seems the 49ers want Garnett to play through a knee injury and he doesn't want to. Let's see if he practices Friday.

4. OT Mike McGlinchey. Beaten twice for sacks by Cassius Marsh during one on ones. Doesn't seem ready to start Week 1. Worse than tackle Garry Gilliam right now.
I would have kept Trent Brown over AA and Ward. Man, our OL would be stacked right now.

The difference between you not feeling good about the OL and you thinking the OL would be stacked is Trent Brown? How's he fix the question at RG?

Mike McGlinchey would be RG.
Cooper will be our starting RG. Give the big fellah some time to dust off some rust. He will surprise a lot of people this year and earn him a contract extension next year. Big Coop!!

TB is a horrible fit in this run blocking scheme. And next year he could command HUGE money. They got what they could for a bad fit coming off an injury, and moved on. Does anyone here think TB would be worth a Nate Solder type contract next year? In the Kyle Shanahan scheme? And next year they would have gotten nothing for him except a comp pick. A case could be made for either decision. A better debate will be after this season, and seeing what type of contract Brown gets next year.

Credibility alert.

They run the same scheme but yeah, he's kind of implying if you don't have the talent there in August, it can only snowball from there. Now we're hoping the right side of our line holds up. Hoping.
