I doubt it. First, Jeremiah has to prove he can stay on the field. Second, the team seems to prefer having fresh edge rushers off the bench(Marsh+Attaochu)
I think Eli's SAM spot is relatively safe, especially since the SAM barely rushes the QB.
Figured as much. Attaochu and Marsh in on nickel as the two ER's.
I was just hoping with Attaochu...more because I can't stand Eli. LOL
Yeah, I think Eli is on his last year with us. He's done absolutely nothing given his opportunities.
Completely agree![]()

And this is a small reminder that this new unit might take half a season to gel.

On Laken Tomlinson:
None of it, however, was in a system quite like head coach Kyle Shanahan's.
"The job description for us is different from anywhere else I've been," Tomlinson told team reporter Joe Fann on the 49ers Studios Podcast.
What does Shanahan expect from his guards?
"You've got to be able to move, win on linebackers, you've got to be able to pass protect," Tomlinson answered. "It's a lot of moving, a lot of agile guys."

Yeah man it seems like Lake is a great fit in this system so far and been excellent this camp. Love it! Seeing him handle Buck on his own was awesome
. Hoping Cooper can have the same success story

Man that is good news. ONE OG who can do his job is fantastic. The other....well if it is just one OG, hopefully kyle has RB, TE held in to help out. But two OGs that can't block is a loser. I feel a lot better hearing this kind of news about Laken. Also i am liking the trade a whole lot better all of a sudden. First half of last yr was pretty rough over at LG. Really good news that he is coming around.

I was really impressed with Tomlinson the last 5-6 games of the season and it looks like he is carrying it over into this year with a strong camp so far. I think he's going to end up being a nice steal from Detroit. Our LG position is set for the next few years, while our RG spot looks like a mess. At least we have a stud center now as opposed to a weak one like Kilgore.

With Josh Garnett out with a knee injury and Jonathan Cooper just now coming back, Mike Person and Erik Magnuson lined up at right guard with the first-team defense at various points.

I know there's been a lot of talk about how good the pass rush has looked, does anyone know if that's because bad OL play? I haven't seen much reported about how our OL looks, specifically our starting unit

Not worried about the OL, we have 3 new starters... OL takes time to gel and defense is always ahead of offense at the beginning... if this was the last preseason game and the OL was getting owned by our pass rush then I would be concerned... give it some time and I think we will be fine by the time we play Minny
